  • Apart from the fact that he speaks only truth and does so boldly and is not a respecter of persons, what are other reasons we love Lover of Truth so very much.

I have thought of a few, but others can and surely will be added.

    1.  His good looks

    2.  His charming wit

    3.  His avatar

    4.  He is charismatic

    5.  The incredible amount of charity he shows to all

    6.  His firm grasp of Catholic truth

    7.  A sense of humor that is hard to equal

    8.  That extra little something about him that no one else has

    9.  His humility

    10.  His incredible good looks
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." Thanks.  That meant alot to me.  I do doubt myself sometimes.  Not on what I share but I wonder if I'm hated by all on this site.

I'm still too much of a naturalist, despite all my protestations to the contrary I still care too much what others think for the wrong reasons.  I want to be liked.

SJB enjoys the buffeting.  He is not so hung up on himself as I am.  But I really do feel bad for those who lack charity here for their sakes not mine.  It is especially disappointing in traditional Catholics.

I have a non-Catholic, not religious at all, naturalist to the core, foulmouthed dirty minded, friend who drops everything to help others with their home computer and refuses payment.  He says that is what we should do, help each other when we are in need.  He does not just make other traditional Catholics look bad.  He makes me look bad.  A guy that thinks he is a good Catholic, that tries his best to stay in a state of sanctifying grace and to eliminate error from traditional Catholicism so we can unite and be a force.  But, the basic things we must do, according to Christ himself, feed the hungry etc.  I avoid it like a plague.  Why?  Who knows.

     :soapbox:

    Thanks again.

  • SJB is one tenacious dude. Neither of you can help your superior reading comprehension skills, either. That gift seems to elude some.

Think of all the people who lurk, do searches, innocent bystanders, etc. You are helping people. The people who don't want to read your threads don't have to.

People like to pick a whipping boy, the lack of charity is on them, the graces go to you when you handle it in a Christlike manner. I don't always agree with, poche, for example, but you have to admit, the beating he takes must be winning him graces.

Very well stated.  The people that persecute us are our best friends, if we make good use of it.  I believe Bishop Sheen said "What a waste" in reference to hospitals.

Sometimes I waste an opportunity for grace with a "tit for tat".

There are lurkers.  I have a bad rap because more than one name was posted from my computers.  I did this not to be a bad guy but to get an objective response.  This was during a time when I was making a valid point that went unnoticed.  I wanted an unbiased opinion not tainted by there response to someone they did not like.  But this was some mortal sin on a forum I guess.  I thought we all posted anomalously here.  Why can't we pretend we are someone else or have someone else post on our computer for a good reason.  This is different than doing something evil isn't it.

"He posed under a different name"  The horror of it all.  I get the scarlet letter for that.  I admit that doing that for a bad purpose would be wrong though.  I just wanted unbiased opinions.  And to insert opinions that would not be automatically discounted because who was posting them.  I wanted people to think about the point I was making without a negative automatically entering the equation before they could respond.

SJB is level-headed and good at sticking to the point and writing a short undeniable fact where he gives his opponent the opportunity to grant the point or prove it wrong.  They can't prove it wrong so they move on to another objection or thumb down.  I respect those who grant an undeniable point made as Jehanne does and many others do.

  • There are a lot of people on Cathinfo with a lot of different opinions, but LOT is the only poster I can't stand.
