  • One draw of the Orthodox is that their leaders did not destroy the liturgy. And as corrupt and heretical as their hierarchy is, the Roman Catholic hierarchy today is more corrupt and more heretical.

  • EO makes sense because the heresy of Francis and all makes the anti-papal stance of the EOs seem plausible. And sedeism is a no true scotsman fallacy of a Church which deserves nothing but scorn.

I'd like to say that I understand where your coming from but I don't. If I were to believe that the Catholic Church isn't the Church that Jesus Christ founded then I would doubt Christ and would doubt that there even is such a thing as truth. It's Catholicism or nihilism for me.
At the risk of sounding like an evangelical protestant, you really do need to have a personal (individual might be a better term) relationship with Jesus. Focus on Him, spend time with Him. When you go to confession realize that it's Him your talking to, when you receive Him in communion realize that it's HIM! When it becomes personal and real you'll be able to see beyond the current problems and actually be happy. You'll also have the patience to endure until such time as God sees fit to send these vermin to the fiery doom which they have chosen. (thought I should end with a cheerful thought ;))

  • Why is any of this a surprise?

    Our Lady of Good Success
    Our Lady of La Salette
    Fatima
and others foretold all of this!

Why didn't the Alta Vendita vow to take down the EO church?

This is a great testament to the Truth of the Catholic Faith!

    Did you expect something different?

The Church will follow in the footsteps of Jesus' passion, death, burial and resurrection!

What happened on the eve of His death?
    Matt 26

31Then Jesus said to them: All you shall be scandalized in me this night. For it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed.

Why would things be different for us?

What did the commie Jєωs do to the Russians? They tortured and martyred them just like they would do to us Catholics.

  • About a year and a half, maybe 2 years ago when I first started realizing there were major problems in the Church, I considered the possibility that the Orthodox Church may be the true Church. I was so sick and tired of the liberalism coming from Rome, that I really wanted to convince myself that the Orthodox Church was it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't convince myself of this. As I continued to study Catholic Church history and pray for guidance, I realized that if I ignored what's happened since 1965 or so, there was no doubt in my mind that the Catholic Church was the true Church. I knew there was far too much evidence in favor of the Catholic Church over the past nineteen hundred and sixty years, for the past 70 to counteract it all. I eventually came to the conclusion that the Catholic Church is the one true Church going through a major crisis, which has been prophesied by many Saints as well as approved Marian apparitions. If there were many other councils like vatican 2 and many crises like this one littered throughout Church history, it would have made things a lot more difficult for me. I know full well that there's been many peaks and valleys over the course of Church history, but the idea of a council such as vatican 2 being imposed and Popes, Bishops, and priests teaching error and betraying the Church for nearly a century is completely unique to our time. Taking into consideration the entire 2,000 year history of the Church as well as the current circuмstances, I came to the conclusion that the Catholic Church is without any doubt whatsoever the one true Church of Christ. Now, when it comes to the answer to the current Church crisis, sedevacantism, R&R, etc, I can't answer that one. I guess I'd describe myself as an R&R trad open to the possibility of sedevacantism. I can't tell you with any certainty which stance to take in response to the crisis, but I can tell you that the true Catholic faith resides within traditionalism, not Orthodoxy, the novus ordo, or anywhere else.
Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us!

Oh come now...that was just a dry run.

They needed practice for the Grand Finale!
