  • Thats a very good post.  Would be better if you "owned" it, by registering and posting with your avatar, so we could link a mane with a post.  Anyone can come on here, even agents, trolls CIA operatives, and post anything they want anonymously.
This is the worse thing that has ever happened to Cathinfo.

There's nothing charitable about those self-righteous people.

They are not posting to help anyone, but to smear.  "Christian charity" in a trad cult means calling someone mentally ill.  And "humility" means willingly submitting to the brand they want to place on you.

That's how cults operate.  They try to make people abase themselves as much as possible.  That's one reason I will never go to confession again to any SSPX priest who might have any idea who I am.

I'm not talking about you.  I'm talking about the the posts that are thinly veiled personal attacks on members here.

  • While I agree that it would be closer to the ideal of spiritual health for the author to own his remarks, he may just not be at that point yet.  I'd guess that someone harmed him or violated his trust, whether in reality or appearance or a mixture of the two, as outlined within the OP.  For good or ill, this is how he is handling it.

All such speculation aside, there is some unquestionably-sagacious advice for all of us in the simple saying, "Look in the mirror."

I cannot and need not answer for anyone else, nor will anyone else answer for me.  However messy my life is or may be, it is what it is precisely because I have acted out of disordered self-love, offending God and harming myself and others in the process.
"Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is all man."

In our world today, you find all kinds of people.  This includes the traditional Catholics, specifically the ones who call themselves traditional “Catholics”.  I say this because they are neither traditional nor Catholic.  These people prey on those who are trying to remain Catholic in this increasingly pagan world in which we find ourselves.
They know how to use the internet to know just enough for their façade of pseudo-piety.  They can keep it up for a while, but sooner or later, because it is not their character, their lie is detected.  Some of them do not have jobs.  They may even have an impressive education.  They may try to live off the accomplishments of their parents or siblings, but is not theirs, like most of the things around them.
They prey off the weaknesses of others and use them.  They give advice about the religious life. They recommend Catholic books which they obviously have never read.  Their own life is a mess because they are never content.  In their view, like so many Americans today, they think that someone else should be supporting them.   After all, what is another person in the household?   :ready-to-eat:Isn’t their brilliant conversation worth it?  Aren’t they so much better than the people who took them in?  They think that everyone is attracted to them because they are charming.  Sure, but that doesn’t last long.  It is not real.
They spend hours upon hours on the computer giving other people advice about the upcoming chastisement instead of time being spent in prayer.  When they have an opportunity to attend a traditional Latin Mass, they are too tired  because they stayed up drinking  the night before or being on the computer too late.  Yes, they have the answers, but they can’t fix what is wrong with themselves.
The problem is that to have brutal Christian charity and call these people out is not possible. Because of their inability to listen to others, they are chattering all the time and when anyone would say something about their faults, they become defensive even mean.  I have no doubt that if they could get revenge for a perceived wrong, they would.  In their case, the pen is mightier than the sword and they do not shy away from using the computer to attack.

So, if this sounds like yourself, all I can say, “If the shoe fits, wear it.”

     :stare:

That or they spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about their fellow neighbor and what he or she is up to as if men are to keep score.

Charity is the greatest virtue. There is no substitute. Loving ones neighbor as oneself for love of GOD is a requirement not an option.  Obeying the Commandments is a requirement not an option.

So yes - I imagine we could all find fault in our neighbor and we can all find fault in just about anyone - but the Catholic who seeks to save his or her soul and the souls of others - doesnt go looking for the faults of others so as to castigate - but rather demonstrates the Truth so as to admonish the sinner so that the sinner may repent his or her sins and the offering is a charitable offering out of Love of Neighbor.   An uncharitable post does not accomplish this.   Ultimately each of us will render an accounting for every thought word or deed and intent will be laid bare for all to see.

So let us all keep that in mind while posting , lest what we say today - be used in our Judgement tomorrow

    Pax
