I'm that poster you were replying to, and I could not agree more.

It has indeed bothered me how little women I talk to in tradition just don't care about being holy.

I mentioned this to a priest lately, and he said there are women out there who do. But I said that while this is true, it's only the ones that couldn't consider for marriage, like older, already married women, or single mothers.  And I'm a pretty flexible guy.

Its the whole overestimating their own excellence (literally the Thomistic definition of pride), while they are young, and the time that they think they have, which is destroying them.

But they do it "a la trad". In a different, more subtle way.

Even the ones that do things by the book, such as in the case of modesty, don't actually care about being fervent. Very little spiritual reading done. Its more reputation based thinking. Sure you might wear a skirt, but do you actually want to be a saint?

You're right, being against an age gap is ultimately a red flag. I mean goodness, are there any sane women there? Hard to know.
It doesn't help when the priests recommend 25+ to females to marry, because of "maturity".

Yes.  And just to define what is an acceptable age-gap, I think the male, ((( half your age + 7 ))) rule is pretty spot on.

Male 20:: youngest age of woman 17
Male 24:: youngest age of woman 19
Male 26:: youngest age of woman 20
Male 30:: youngest age of woman 22
Male 34:: youngest age of woman 24
Male 40:: youngest age of woman 27
Male 44:: youngest age of woman 29

I'm not saying an age-gap is preferable, or ideal.  Just saying there's nothing wrong with it.  I don't understand why anyone would be opposed, other than superficiality.
No, that rule comes from the Victorian era and it's actually the OLDEST you can marry not the Youngest. It's commonly used by redditors because redditors are gαy and don't understand the man always has power over the woman. Something modern people hate.

You are right nothing should be used to justify disobedience.  What is obedience anyway?  The women need to obey the men and who do the men need to obey?  Trump?  Their boss? Pope Leo XIV?  Bishop Sanborn? Bishop Zendejas? Their parents?
Women obey men.  Men run the world.  Sorry, that's how it is.  If men have a superior at work or at church, they obey them. Outside of this, men obey God alone.  That's how it works.

Oh, this makes sense.  Because once women get past 26, their fertility drops fast.

Gray!!!!! 😱😱😱 that’s basic scripture!

1 Corinthians
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
