Fifty percent of full time workers in America earn less than twenty five thousand dollars per year.  Seventy five percent earn less than fifty thousand dollars per year.  If God designed the wife's roles around being at home and devoting herself to the home, then it stands to reason she hasn't the time for an outside or inside the home job.  Therefore, it seems reasonable to conclude that traditional minded catholic couples should get used to the idea of living on around two thousand dollars a month or less.  Furthermore, given the unfortunately inevitable decline in good jobs, decline in the dollar's buying power and the increase in prices of basics like electricity, property taxes and water, traditional minded catholic couples and wannabes should plan on it being even more difficult than that, in the relatively near future and certainly much harder for their children.

I really think the only way to bring any sanity to this is to work on developing a catholic spirit of poverty.  Perhaps it's always been that way, but this seems overwhelming.

Neotraditionalism isn't about the Faith.  It's about mammon.  Everyone with common sense knows that throughout the history of the Church most Catholics have had families and raised their children with far less money than is being touted as a "minimum" by those who despise the less fortunate and don't went them around because they actually believe the religion.

I think one thing that may scare a lot of men away from the workplace is the politics, in an environment that has gone crazy.  The ability to deal with that is probably one of the biggest factors that determines success or failure in the workplace of today.  I'm not talking about making a lot of money;  I'm talking about just holding down a steady job.
