  • Has anyone here been unjustly kicked off a church property? If so, what the reason was given?

  • I just came back from mass, and the priest kicked two people out because they would not stop talking during mass.  He chewed them out while at the alter.  The two people did not speak English, so I am not sure if he handled this correctly? They were from the nearby Novus Ordo.  Strange times we are living in.  Has anyone else seen this happen?

  • The priest should have been more patient and kind.  He should have talked to them after Mass.  That was mean to chew them out during Mass.  WWJD?

  • I agree. Or maybe send down of the servers to tell them to be quiet. Well, it was an uncomfortable situation, to say the least.

That's terrible. He should have just come down and slapped both of them across the face. No translation necessary.

    "Unjustly"???
About a dozen of us used to leaflet and proselytize the fag Novus Ordo parishes.  The cops were called more than once.

  • I've been kicked off many times, either for pro-life leafleting locally and in DC outside of the National Basilica, USCCB and again at Catholic University for promoting the Consecration of Russia with a few signs and a statue of OLOF- definitely not welcome. That was back when I was still going to the FSSP and still in the conciliar church.

Good for him. People who disrupt the ceremony and refuse to show reverence should be removed.

  • I've had priest been rude to me for being too traditional and I felt like I wasn't welcome to return to the church

This is a great question! Turns out Jesus did once have to deal with people who were disrespectful in church:
    .

    Quote
Jesus went up to Jerusalem. [14] And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting. [15] And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.

[16] And to them that sold doves he said: Take these things hence, and make not the house of my Father a house of traffic.
    .
It sounds like these people were told to be quiet and refused. Just about every culture understands the finger on the lips and "Sshhh!" I find it hard to believe they didn't understand. But in any case, whether they understand or not or what they knew is not the priest's problem. It is his responsibility to ensure people observe reverence in the house of God. These people were not doing that, and he tried to correct them and they didn't listen. I don't see what else he could have done.
    .
Padre Pio would throw women out of his confessional or out of church if they came in wearing pants. He didn't stop to ask what language they spoke, or whether they knew that what they were doing was wrong, or anything else. Apparently he didn't think it was unkind or unChristlike to do that.
    .
There is too much concern nowadays for the feelings of jerks like these people with an attitude problem who refuse to comport themselves properly in someone else's house, and not enough concern for the honor due to God.

  • I’ve seen a young indult priest run out the front door immediately after the Asperges me, to put a stop to what was called the brew’n cycle, a wheeled contraption powered by 12 pedaling persons on bar stools, a wooden bar in the middle that served unlimited beer for a 40 minute session.  It was steered by a truck steering wheel from up front.  It also featured very loud, raunchy music that blared from four loudspeakers along the canopied top.  It came from a local microbrewery about three blocks away.  It made about three rounds in the 40 minutes, passing in front of the church, then alongside to (illegally) cut through the parking lot.  With each round, it got louder as the people became more intoxicated.  Sometimes, depending upon who was at the steering wheel, they’d stop right outside for the purpose of annoying those in Mass.  The matter ended up in court.  The microbrewery was not permitted to play music along the block where the church was located, and was told the parking lot was private property, not a turn-around.  They still entered it a few times and were issued pricey tickets.
I’ve also seen numerous people thrown out of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC for highly inappropriate conduct of all sorts, from plain disrespect to the bizarre.

When I read this, I'm reminded of the basic fact: the devil exists, and he hates the Mass, the Church, and God.
I've heard of many similar things happening, no doubt motivated by the devil.

There is a certain stripe of person who cannot NOT talk, regardless of where they are.  It really comes across more as some kind of neurological disorder or psychological problem.  Sadly, I even experienced this once at the TLM.  The two women just couldn't keep from maintaining this animated conversation (folie a deux?).  I shot them dagger looks of fraternal correction several times, but they were too obtuse to take the hint.  I don't think it was intentional irreverence, as much as their temperament doesn't have a concept of ever refraining from speech.  They had to be newcomers from the Novus Ordo.

I have to think this is similar to the kind of person who absolutely, positively cannot stay off the telephone.  They can't comprehend the idea of "being where they are", having situational awareness, having any kind of consideration for those around them, their life is just one long serial telephone conversation.  I just don't get that.

Her teenage son would be at mass and would be on the phone the entire time. I don’t get it either.
