Title: Jan 1st 2020 Meatless or not
Post by: Änσnymσus on December 30, 2020, 04:34:11 PM
Is this week going to be just like last week with fasting and abstinence on the vigil, but we can eat meat on the feast day on Friday?

No fasting nor abstinence on Thursday. Friday is a feast day and is like a Sunday.

Is the lack of vigil abstinence because of the octave? Sounds like we get to have our cake and eat it too this week.

The bulletins of Bishop Dolan's St. Gertrude The Great in West Chester, Ohio and of CMRI Mount St. Michael's in Spokane, Washington both say the abstinence is dispensed on Friday January 1, 2021.

One does wonder why this topic is in the Anonymous Forum?

Fear of judgment from pharasaical trads? Just an idea.
