    • Just wondering.  

    I don't mean anything indecent, just something like decent ballroom dancing.  Maybe even just at home.

    In that case, I don't think my wife would be too please either.  

    But, seriously, the Church does not forbid dancing.  Traditionally, there have always been times when dancing has been completely acceptable, even in Catholic countries.  The Church did not condemn such activities unless the activities were occasions of sin.  Dancing could be sinful if not properly supervised in the case of unmarried people.  Most "modern" dance is probably sinful.

    But a husband and wife dancing together?  I cannot see a problem.

    Is there that much ignorance out there? People confusing Traditional Catholicism with the Old Catholics, Amish, puritans, Mormons? What's next, confusing us with the Muslims?

    I guess truth is one and error is many. 2+2=4, but the number of wrong answers for 2+2 is infinite.

    Maybe it was a dumb question, but it was asked with a good motive- to avoid behaviour that offends God.  Not everyone has had a solid Catholic upbringing and I think it's rather obvious that many trads do have a puritanical streak.  And there are many people that pull out quotes from the Church fathers, the Cure of Ars, etc. condemning dancing.  So I don't think it was actually an unreasonable question.

    • There are different types of dancing and even music.  

    Jesus and Mary attended weddings and probably took part in dances that include everyone holding hands and dancing in a circle.  

    Our ancestors loved to dance jigs, polkas, waltzes and square dance.

    50's, 60, 70 80 were bad enough.  

    The 2000 and 90 the dancing and music is even more pornographic.
