  • Does anyone else think it weird when traditional Catholics can't think of anything except the consecration of Russia and think that all that has to happen is the Pope and the Bishops say a five minute prayer together and then all the world's problems will magically go away. There are a lot of traditional Catholics and priests this way and I think it is weird.

Okay, now let everyone get angry at me.

  • No, but I think it's weird that you think it's weird.

You don't understand how important it is that the Consecration of Russia be done. It's extremely important.

  • Fatima is from God.
Francis I cannot consecrate anything, because he is not a valid Pope.

  • I agree, the pope can't consecrate and I don't think he blesses anything or anyone either.  As for "magical" that is of the devil, miraculous is of God.  When God decides, he will have His day with the world of evil.

  • God can dictate whatever terms He desires. He can turn the whole thing around, "miraculously" (not magically -- the above poster is correct. The devil only uses tricks of his angelic nature, or "magic")

And what a day to rip on Fatima, too. Happy Mothers' Day, Immaculate Virgin Mary!

  • This subject should never be discussed on Mother's Day.

Fatima is not weird, the anonymous who posted this is weird.

  • A devotion to Fatima is not a bad thing.

An exclusive obsession with the consecration of Russia is not exactly a devotion to Fatima.

    Let's pray for Russia.

  • The cognitive dissonance occurs when the issue of the loss of Faith in the Church is made secondary to the "Consecration of Russia."

    Fatima is not the Faith.

    Fatima is a warning.

After the Consecration of Russia, then there will be no more loss of Faith within the Church! You forget that Our Lady of Fatima promised an era of peace.

Lack of Faith in the message from an accepted apparition of Our Lady is a cause for concern.  Our Lady said that Russia had to be consecrated, like Christ said that he had to be put to death.  Peter refused to accept this, and Christ admonished him for it.  Similarly, a lot of Catholics refuse to believe in the importance of this consecration.  Personally, I think that it is VERY important.  But believe what you will.  Both the loss of Faith in the Church AND the consecration of Russia are important.  However, if you think that we can overcome the loss of Faith in the Church without the consecration of Russia, then I think that you are misguided.
