The reason for the split was about the quality of the education and NOTHING else. For 3+ years the DeMarks and 2 other families had done everything they could to get these problems addressed but to no avail. all the while I might add continuing their financial support. It should also be noted that their support of the school at OLOS still continues as the recent jog-a-thon shows

I would also like to add that the DeMarks are a very conservative traditional catholic family as are the other 2 families involved in the split

What were the specific concerns? Was there any attempt at change? If not why not?

It was unqualified teachers. Some had no more than a highschool diploma, others seemed overwhelmed at having more than a handful of pupils at one time , some did not stick to the curriculum ( one story that came out was that a teacher had said to a class of 1st & 2nd graders that St. Francis talked to animals just like Dr. Dolittle, it was a math class btw) some would refer children to tutoring for things they themselves did not understand ,at a cost of course , some would use high school students to teach their class while they basically just supervised or looked after the discipline problems.
EVERY one of the complaints regarding curriculum or the teachers fell on deaf ears. Even after the district was told over the summer what was going to happen they did NOTHING
