  • For those of you who have dealt with infertility (whether temporary or permanent), did you have any specific devotions that helped you? Saints that you invoked for intercession? Do you have any book/article recommendations on how to better cope/be more patient and trust in God's Will?

    - Thanks in advance

Mostly need help on the spiritual side of things. I am doing what my doctor says will work eventually, because we know what's wrong.

  • Watch for the cervical mucus.  Some ask St. Philomena for intercession.  The Cure D' Ars did.

Thank you, I do watch that and take morning temp but I am not ovulating. Taking some medication to help but it will be probably be awhile until it works and having a rough time dealing with the waiting. My priest tells me to just keep praying and it's been hard to pray for that lately because I'm so discouraged right now. I appreciate the advice on which Saints to invoke!

I support the Pro-Life movement and sidewalk counsel women who are going in to have an abortion. Sometimes it helps them choose life when they know others have not been blessed with a child.
This is a wretched cross for me to bear but when I offer up to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts- there is a peace in my soul.

On a more secular note, I tend to stay away from people on Mother's Day and Father's Day.. take the phone of the hook if I can.

The irony is that someone (in a fit of anger) told me that they hoped my husband and I would never have children (before we were married). I always wonder if they remember what they said now that it has come true.... words hurt.

  • I don't have any advice but wanted to say how much I admire you protesting/counseling outside of a clinic while facing what you are.

  • I'm not the OP but mucus signs are not working for me.  It's been 2 months and the frustration of carefully charting and observing is getting to me.  I know the charts are correct because they accurately predict when my new cycle starts.

Re: not ovulating. I had the same problem. I read about the importance of the moon phases on ovulation for animals & humans.  If everything else is okay, perhaps you'd like to give this a try:
Go to sleep every night no later than 10pm.
Block out all light from your bedroom so that you are not able to see your hand in front of your face.
Light your room with a low watt led bulb following the moon phases - brighter light at full moon, less light as the moon decreases & no light at the new moon. If you live in the countryside with no artificial external light, all you have to do is make sure there are no lights left on in or near your bedroom & keep your curtains open. This should get you ovulating within months. It worked for us after just 1 month. Previously we had not conceived at all in the many years we were married.

I hope that helps you. Btw, we were completely against taking meds for fertility as there are side-effects down the road.

  • I have heard about the lighting.  I find it odd, but full moons bring out dementia and babies are born around full moon and for some reason it has a pull on the brain.  I am tickled for you!
