Traditional Catholics are starved, so when we see something that is reminiscent of our lifestyle (i.e., Duggars) or hear someone who appears to be standing boldly against Church enemies (i.e., Br. Nathanael), many latch onto it with good intention, but in innocent ignorance that they are uniting with heretics.
I understand why trads do this and cannot fault it, except when they are finally corrected by their brothers - as St. Paul instructs us to do - and they make their brother the enemy. The messenger must be slain, rather than recognition of their error and changing their mistaken paradigm. Novus ordites react exactly the same way.
So, we either shake the dust from our cloak or re-examine how we are presenting the correction and try again. Swallow your pride though, 'cause that messenger slaying can get really ugly.
