Your alternative to the "mess," is, I assume, sedevacantism, is that right?
If sedevacantism is your idea of an "alternative," then it's an alternative that is also a mess.

Don’t believe everything you read online, or hear from the SSPX and Resistance, about “sedevacantism”.  Most of it is all made up stuff from decades ago that just keeps being recycled over and over again.  “Sedevacantists” are just Catholics who believe in all that the Church teaches.

O my God, I firmly believe all the truths that the Holy Catholic Church believes and teaches; I believe these truths, O Lord, because Thou, the infallible Truth, hast revealed them to her; in this faith I am resolved to live and die. Amen.

The testimony of sedevacantists on this forum is what mainly informs my judgement of them. Many have serious anger issues; some do not. Most are just contrary, and sedevacantism offers an outlet for that personality trait.

Please don’t make a judgement based on what you see on this forum, or other forums for that matter.  Forums tend to bring out the worst in people.  However, I do not believe the sedevacantists have a monopoly on “serious anger issues”, because I have witnessed the same, and other issues, in SSPX and Resistance people both on this forum and in real life.  The sedevacantists I know are quietly spoken and charitable, and love their Catholic faith.  I have met and dined with four sedevacantist priests and one bishop (on separate occasions), and I have found them to be kind, patient, knowledgeable, pious, and generous with their time.

My initial comments in this thread were not meant to be antagonistic, and I had no intention of bringing up sedevacantism… the initial poster was (rightly) upset that a novus ordo priest is being used by the SSPX at their chapel.  All I have basically said was that this is not a new practice of the SSPX, and that even Archbishop Lefebvre was content with this situation, something that I find perplexing and perhaps many on this forum would too.

I’ll leave it there.  Apologies for taking up your time and for any misunderstandings.

Perfectly said. Though I am not the person that complained. I have never had a bad experience with a sedevacantes, I have had many with die hard SSPXers.

You say I'm not to make a judgement based on what I see on this forum, and you said previously that I'm also shouldn't believe what the SSPX or Resistance has to say about it. That only leaves sede sources themselves. But sede are hardly consistent. They are all over the place in their views. And they can be really nasty.
I know that there are a few sede priests who are kind. They are few, but they do exist. I don't think that they post on this forum.
Sedevacantism is similar to Jєωιѕн supremacism. Both groups believe themselves to be superior to all others. They believe that they have some sort of right to take over any group that they associate with, due to their supposed superiority. They have serious issues not only with anger, but with pride.
