There is also a stereotype that Indian men are very lusty. Women place them near the bottom of the totem pole for desirability, but that doesn't mean they don't lust after women. They are pagan remember.
You are correct. Rape is a serious problem in India. Because of the paganism in the culture, women are seen as up for grabs. In India, most women will not report a rape to authorities, and if they do, the police don’t take it seriously. I’m writing as a Catholic woman, not a feminist.
I’ve had Indian men come on to me. They can be very polite, well-spoken, gentlemanly. If you consent to what might sound like a casual date or two, they pay for meals, movie tickets, etc. When, after a couple of “dates,” they quickly turn into sex fiends, demanding repayment for their “investment.” Sure, there are exceptions, but ladies, be very careful, even in a trad chapel setting.
