  • I must tell you that I am fading, really bad. My RCIA class is killing me I have studied STA deeply for 5 years, I burned my COCC and bought Six Catholic Catechisms Anthology,  i stopped praying the Prayer of Immaculata, the Rosary and have forsaken my love to Mother Mary in my behavior. I am not Catholic on paper. Is there pre- vat2 catechism. Where can I turn, please

  • Turn to Mary immediately no matter what! No matter how dark and desperate you feel. Even if all you can manage is to repeat the Holy names "Jesus, Mary"

Patience is a conquering virtue. The learned say that, if it not desert you, It vanquishes what force can never reach; Why answer back at every angry speech? No, learn forbearance or, I'll tell you what, You will be taught it, whether you will or not.

  • If you are comfortable tell us where in the world you live. Forum members may be able to help put you in touch with a solid Priest that can help you. If you don't want to do so publicly, PM me and I will help all that I am able.

  • Say that Rosary, even if you are ridiculously distracted, say it anyway. You will come through it

"Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ". Romans 10:17

I think because faith cometh by hearing, I think possibly one of the easiest was there is to feed and grow whatever faith you have is to listen to good sermons. I suggest listening to some of these perhaps even while you are doing mundane tasks during the day.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

  • You must pray the Consecration that follows which is from The Secret of the Rosary written by Saint Louis De Montfort.

This Consecration will help you if you ask for what you want to accomplish.

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY  (St. Louis De Montfort’s Consecration)

“I, N_____, a faithless sinner - renew and ratify today in thy hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.”

“In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day, for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen”

  • He sits with sinners.  He came not for the righteous, but for sinners.  Jesus loves you.  Now you see how weak you are.  Sometimes the hardest thing is to be brought to a point where we have to put the books down, and sit with Him in our demoralized and unworthy state, and let Him love us until we break.
Then, when you return to books, a good Catechism of Trent, Pre-Vat II Missal and Catholic Bible.

I might suggest reading accounts of Priests/Catholics in Gulags and cσncєnтrαтισn cαмρs.

And I concur with others here, pray your rosary, no matter what.

His Mercy is renewed every morning.

I will pray for you.  Pray for me.

  • I have been praying for you.

    Try some short prayers:

    Lord, help me!

    Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

    My Jesus, mercy!

Sweet heart of Mary, be my salvation!
Surge, Domine, et dissipentur inimici, et eos qui oderunt te, a facie tua!
St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle!

  • Here is a longer prayer that you can pray---slowly---all at once or a few lines at a time.  Hope this help!

Remember to ask your guardian angel to pray for you and to pray with you!

    *                     *                    *                  *                 *                  *                   *

The Universal Prayer (attributed to Pope Clement XI)

O My God, I believe in Thee; do Thou strengthen my faith. All my hopes are in Thee; do Thou secure them. I love Thee with my whole heart; teach me to love Thee daily more and more. I am sorry that I have offended Thee; do Thou increase my sorrow.

I adore Thee as my first beginning. I aspire after Thee as my last end. I give Thee thanks as my constant benefactor. I call upon Thee as my sovereign protector. Deign, O My God, to conduct me by Thy wisdom, to restrain me by Thy justice, to comfort me by Thy mercy, and to defend me by Thy power.

To Thee, I desire to consecrate all my thoughts, words, actions and sufferings; that hence forward, I make think of Thee, speak of Thee, willingly refer all my actions to Thy greater glory, and suffer willingly whatever Thou shalt appoint.

Lord, I desire that in all things Thy will may be done, because it is Thy will, and in the manner that Thou wilt.

I beg of Thee to enlighten my understanding, to inflame my will, to purify my body, and to sanctify my soul.

Give me strength, O My God, to expiate my offences, to overcome my temptations, to subdue my passions, and to acquire the virtues proper for my state.

Fill my heart with tender affection for Thy goodness, hatred for my faults, love for my neighbor, and contempt of the world.

Let me always remember to be submissive to my superiors, condescending to my inferiors, faithful to my friends, and charitable to me enemies.

Assist me to overcome sensuality by mortification, avarice by alms-deeds, anger by meekness, and tepidity by devotion.

O My God, make me prudent in my undertakings, courageous in danger, patient in afflictions, and humble in prosperity.

Grant that I may be ever attentive at my prayers, temperate at my meals, diligent at my employments, and constant in my resolutions.

Let my conscience be ever upright and pure, my exterior modest, my conversation edifying, and my comportment regular.

Assist me, that I may continually labor to overcome nature, to correspond with Thy grace, to keep Thy commandments and to work out my salvation.

Discover to me, O My God, the nothingness of this world, the greatness of Heaven, the shortness of time, and the length of eternity.

Grant that I may prepare for death, that I may fear Thy judgments, that I may escape hell, and in the end obtain Heaven, through the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Surge, Domine, et dissipentur inimici, et eos qui oderunt te, a facie tua!
St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle!

What are some titles of books, or names of priests or Saints do you suggest?
