  • Thank you Lad!

I have an enormity of sins in my life, and it's considerations like the above that keep me from despair as well, so I offer them to OP as potential remedies for the state he's in.  OP, tell Our Lady that you're happy that she's immaculate and holy and loved more by God than you are and that you wouldn't switch places with her, since you could never wish upon her to be in such a sorry state.  OP, let go of your obsession with your own salvation, and seek first and foremost to love and please God.

  • Hello there, I'm sorry you feel like you aren't coping. Please accept a friendly hug if that will not offend you. (If you are short on hugs, is there a pet you can walk, or cuddle with? Dogs are great, and they don't mind at all if you talk to them) :-)

1). Are you a convert to the Faith? Because it sounds like you might be and are going through a very rough time at the moment. You are being tested. The devil is playing with your mind.

    2) Is there medication that you are on that might need to be adjusted, like an antidepressant or similar? Please see your Dr. soon.

    3) Is there someone in person that you can speak to, besides hanging out on this computer forum? A friend from Mass? Your Priest? Can you make an appointment with your Priest for time outside the confessional for counselling with him? Very often a Priest will not have time in the Confessional, and for a myriad of reasons, but if you ask to make an appointment with him you can perhaps go to Confession first, and then have time to talk with him after.

    4) Please go to confession as soon as you can, and if you struggle with doing so, or have doubts about certain sins, then tell the Priest, and he will guide you.

    5) PRAY. Even if all you can do is say ONE HAIL MARY? Then say it well, and lovingly. Our Lady is a good Mother and loves to help her children.

    6) Are you enrolled in the Brown Scapular? ****Do you actually wear it?****If you aren't enrolled, please go do so at the first opportunity with your Priest, and if you aren't wearing it now? Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey! Time to go run and put it on and cling to your little lifeboat.

    7) If you are sincere in your confessions and have received absolution, then you have nothing to worry about. Your sins are forgiven! Aim for heaven, and NOT PURGATORY! I don't know, have you ever played basketball? Are you going for a 3 point lay-up, or just a rim shot? If you aim for the rim-shot, you will probably end up in hell. So aim for heaven and get your 3 pointer.

****8) Are you thinking of ѕυιcιdє? Have you been bothered by these thoughts or are they frequent? Are you afraid of hurting yourself? ****Do you actually have a plan of self-harm?**** If any of these things apply, then get away from your computer, NOW, and go to the ER, call a crisis line, 9-11, or have someone drive you to the hospital.

    ********************************************************************************************

You are in GRAVE danger, and you need guidance for your spiritual, mental and emotional health. Please stop reading a multitude of things off the Internet about everything under the sun. You are getting confused, and it is not helping you at all. It is aiding in your despair, and that is the devil working on you.

God works in the calm and quiet and the stillness. If you are agitated or not peaceful, then are you in mortal sin at the moment? If not, then you need to address other things, and you need to figure out other ways to help you cope emotionally.

I will pray for you. Please get help. God bless you, Anne. :-)

P.S. Do you have any ability to get outside for a walk in nature? A nice park, some green space, the ocean, a nice snowfall to enjoy? Something? Fresh air is great for a new perspective rather than staying inside all day. Do you have any way to physically burn off some steam or energy? Chopping firewood, scrubbing tiles, washing your car, or going for a quick jog for 5 minutes? Weight lifting?

Just giving suggestions, as I don't know what your situation is, and I don't need to know, but know that I care for your soul, and therefore I care also for you. God bless, Anne.

  • I'm started to get more and more sick, no I haven't taken the Vax but I have underlying health problems.
The radiation is pretty bad where I am too.

I feel like I'm just living to die soon to burn for eternity .

Sr lucia said to her relative priest that there won't always be hope for our salvation.

    I feel so hopeless

Good start! We all earn hell. Some of us are chosen to be elect for heaven, most are not. None of those who are elect, earned to be.

  • A thought that often helps me when I'm tempted to despair is that God is not looking to throw us into Hell at the first sin, but offers to fill in the gaps caused by our sins. "I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase." [1 Corinthians 3:6]

He's looking for any good, meritorious act done for love of Him to excuse our faults. Because such an act far outweighs any imperfections we have. So as long as we are doing everything we can to lead a Catholic life according to our state, then the hope of salvation remains.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

"The just man sins seven times a day."

    You are obvoiusly repentent.

Don't get distracted by private revelations, prophecies, interpretations, etc.

Its natural for a sinner to have his sins always before his eyes.

There's nothing wrong with you because of that.

And your temptation to despair is based upon an intellectual error (i.e., the 3 1/2 years thing).

If you've been to confession, you have nothing to worry about (except future sins).

Josef Pieper (in his book "The Cardinal Virtues") says the key to removing and pre-empting anxiety about one's personal state is to change the mind's eye from a morose focus upon self, to an outward projection: Focus upon helping others, an din such measure as you accomplish this, your focus upon self will be proportionately dissipated (and your anxiety with it).

Meanwhile, I find this psalm consoling: Every convert from great sin is God's glory, and serves to shame the devil.  God loves you and wants this, and that is why you converted.  That is an encouraging thought!  You are walking the same path as St. Paul and St. Augustine, and even the Bible understands how you feel:

Miserere. The repentance and confession of David after his sin. The fourth penitential psalm.

[1] Unto the end, a psalm of David, [2] When Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bethsabee. [3] Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity. [4] Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. [5] For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me.

[6] To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged. [7] For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me. [8] For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me. [9] Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. [10] To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.

[11] Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. [12] Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels. [13] Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me. [14] Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit. [15] I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.

[16] Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice. [17] O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise. [18] For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted. [19] A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. [20] Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up.

[21] Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.

On the other hand... I think from OP's posting history he absolutely MUST stay away from private revelation. I think he should tell his confessor about his predilection for listening to private revelation and tell his confessor that certain private revelation are occasions of despair for him. I'm not going to out OP's name but I'm concerned because this has been a pattern of his. Once he breaks out of this pattern it is going to change his entire mental state.

God is practically pleading with us to give Him a reason to save us.  I forget which saint told the story, perhaps it was St. John Vianney, about a man who had stopped practicing the faith dying.  His wife thought that he had surely been lost.  But somehow God revealed to her that he was saved, even if he'd be in Purgatory for an extremely long time.  Evidently, at one point he saw his wife placing flowers before the statue of Our Lady and he was moved by her piety, and that was what drew to him the grace of salvation.  God is practically pleading with us:  "Give me something, anything at all, please, to allow Me in to save you."

Precisely. It's exactly as St. Paul said:

    Quote
Every man's work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [1 Cor. 3:13-14]

We may heap up tons of imperfect works of stone and wood, but if we have that one little coin of gold, representing a selfless act of love for God, then we shall be saved.
