How to deal with strangers who blaspheme?
« on: May 31, 2024, 06:44:26 AM »
Just wondering, but then dealing with random people your come across in your daily lives, whether it be online or in-person, what should I do if someone says something regarding God that might be considered a vain usage or even a blasphemous remark? The same questions goes out in regards to our Lord Jesus. People often blurt out His name so easily... and I am unsure what I should do. Should I rebuke them? It might be a wake up call for them, or perhaps they will just add sins to their sins...

I usually say I find their use of of the name of my Lord and Savior offensive.
That usualyl stuns them

Depends on how strong you are. Could you take them in a fight?

I'm a woman- usually I am addressing a man. I could take them on verbally but not physically. Usually this is a work situation and not a bar so it hasn't come to blows yet.

My husband just makes the Sign of the Cross when he hears Our Lord's name taken in vain. The person then may inquire to why, then a conversation can start.
