We dress properly and are often apologized to when someone blasphemes in earshot of us, without our saying one word.

Is there a difference between blasphemy and using the Lord's name in vain?

Blasphemy is more vocally being "angry" at God and voicing expletives about whatever befell a person, or being angry in general and pulling God into it.

Using the Lord's name in vain is in a similar "vein" but can just be in casual conversation or just inappropriately used but not necessarily meant as an angry affront towards God.  If I remember correctly from Moral Theology, Blasphemy is the more serious of the 2 offences and some Monarchs punished it by branding the tongue with a red hot iron for the first offense, cutting out the tongue for the 2nd offense, and death for the 3rd offense.  Using the Lord's name in vain is also serious and neither should be done if one cares about their souls.

Should we correct others when they do both of these? I.e blaspheme, and using the Lord's name in vain.

I have tried with my co workers before, they have said they try less to do it but not for God's sake but because they don't want to offend me... Of course they still do it without realising it. They are also lukewarm on lgbt filth.

It's like they only believe whatever the propaganda machine tells them.

People are just copying what they see online, movies, videos, music, bad parents, influences, etc. and don't think about why they are saying it. It's ironic when they are atheists too. Look at all the movies and see how many blasphemies they have, it's just to normalize them.
