  •

I knew every answer. It's really freaking sad.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

My Avatar is Fr. Hector Bolduc. He was a faithful parish priest in De Pere, WI,

  • If I recall correctly I took this test when it came out and scored perfectly on it:

•Harvard seniors had the highest average at 69.6%, 5.97 points higher than its freshmen but still a D+. A Harvard senior posted the only perfect score.

  • I'll admit there were a few I didn't know... but some of them were just too easy, I don't know how people could miss them!!

Some of the replies that made me chuckle:

Q: Do you know what a mosque is?
    A: An animal.

Q: What is the religion of a buddhist monk?
A: Islam (I think that's what he answered... it struck me funny that he didn't say buddhist!)

Q: What is a country that starts with the letter U?
    A: Yugoslavia

    Oh. My. Goodness.

Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

  • Did any of you notice CNNN on the screen?

    Try googling CNNN.

And try not to be so gullible.

  • Seriously though, Americans know more and less, than one would assume.

What's frightening to me is that most of the things they do know about they've learned from the media.

The ignorance of history and the world is staggering.

  • In the light of eternity most of their heads are full of vain, sinful, and dangerous nonsense. Some know many useless facts. Most also believe various fables and lies that they have been spoon fed. They are a bunch of dumbed-down materialists. Most are losers in the true sense of the word.

There but for the grace of God....

  • You can be the dumbest guy or gal in the room but if you live your life in fidelity to the Catholic faith then you are a winner in the truest sense of the word.

I've known winners but they are few...

We should spend more time in prayer for those who are on the path of being a loser and those who lived a loser lifestyle but have passed on.

  • This is why you need a welfare system so that you don't have to deal with people this stupid when you check into a hotel, order a burger and fries or want something dry cleaned.

Cut back the military budget and pay these people to stay at home.  Believe me, it is worth the money.

I travel to the US frequently and you have a standard of idiot over there that we manage to keep hidden or simply don't have in Europe.  I wonder how it is possible to be so dim and yet not mentally retarded.  You might think they would pick some of this stuff up just by being vaguely interested when they sat in front of the TV.

Since 2007 I have noticed an improvement.

It's not that people are idiots. It's a combination of things. First unless they are stuck in the job usually  they are not trained. Some efficiency expert at the top decides they should have an insufficient hours of training. The next thing is the amount of time they decide each customer interaction or a task should be handled in. They are not taught to be accurate they are taught to do it carelessly and quickly. Yes workers need a way to politely redirect the Chatty Cathy but the efficiency standards are ridiculous. Two years in a row I did a temp gig doing true customer service during a peak time for a company. I spent much of my time fixing complaints that now the bank or the person's  parent or they were calling about for the third or fourth time. They were not hard to solve but it took an extra step or two to find what the issue was in the first place.  We had authority to do that extra step or two but they  barely covered it in training. Instead of  1 afternoon of training 3 days of training would have made the difference for everyone.
Also companies limit what front line workers can do. They may not be able to help and it could look like no common sense but really they are doing what management wants.  Like if a customer wants a refund you might have to offer something else three times. Or if a customer wants a supervisor you may have no way of escalating it. Or you are not allowed to go off script when upselling even if it means losing an order. It sounds like no common sense or business sense to the customer but it's the way management wants it.
