FYI, "Young Earth" is the 2nd selection.Under 6000 years? Might as well have a selection for "500 years"
I think one tier should be 7000-8000yo. The breviary reading for Christmas says that Our Lord was born in the 5000+ year after creation, so by that count we are in the year 7000+. 7000-20000 is too wide for me.
I wrote this. It is the Martyrology, not the Breviary, that says: “In the 5,199th year of the creation of the world, from the time when God in the beginning created the heavens and the earth, in the 2,957th year after the flood; in the 2,015th year from the birth of Abraham; … in the 42nd year of the rule of Octavian Augustus, all the earth being at peace, Jesus Christ, the Eternal God, and the Son of the Eternal Father, … was born in Bethlehem of Juda of the Virgin Mary, made Man.”I heard somewhere (from a Bp. Williamson lecture?) that an upper bound estimate, based on Sacred Scripture, is 8000 something years old, never more than 9000. So I had to vote 7000-20000 but I find it misleading.
