I am from the age when even a drop of water was forbidden after midnight prior to receiving Holy Communion. I still remember being trained to receive our First Holy Communion the nuns would explain that God must come first, which is the reason for the Fast. Therefore I had a hard time when the fast was relaxed to only 3 hours, and still to this day, I am careful when brushing my teeth not to swallow, and recently had a discussion with a nun, who agreed that when stirring the powdered milk into coffee as an example; we must make sure it is totally dissolved for fear of breaking the fast.
I was shocked to find out that the SSPX chapel in Post Falls, only has a one hour fast as in the novus ordo. I know this because my grandchildren have gone to Mass there and were surprised to hear of this none fast, since that is what it is being Mass is about an hour long when you consider the time spent to travel there at times.
