Title: Heads up NJ SSPX Visiting Priests?
Post by: Änσnymσus on May 25, 2023, 03:18:55 PM
Heads up if anyone plans on attending Mass at St Anthony’s in NJ in June.  These priests listed below will be visiting. I heard a while ago they had Fr Isaac Mary Relyea visit. He was ordained in NO and not conditionally ordained.  I am wondering if they are having ex-NO priests again.

Just the last names were given so I am trying to find out more.  Thanks for any corrections.

Fr Rigi

If it’s Fr James Rigi, he was ordained in 2014 by Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais

Fr Graves

If Fr Scott Graves, he was ordained in 2013 Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais

Fr Fenney

If it’s Fr Christopher Paul Feeney, he was ordained in NO and not conditionally ordained

Corrected.

I emailed Mr. Chistopher Feeney twice. Each time he refused to confirm he was conditionally ordained.

QuoVadis and DustyActual have specifically mentioned in the past that they heard that he was conditionally ordained.  Maybe they could share some input here?

Yes my priest personally told me that Fr. Christopher Feeney was conditionally re-ordained. I do think it's wrong for priests to refuse to say whether or not they were conditionally re-ordained.

This is the SSPX.  You're just supposed to trust them in all things and pay for their building projects.

I am actually more concerned with NO baptisms of some SSPX priests.

I agree, it's an atrocious attitude for a priest to have. It's a practical denial of the crisis in the Church. It amounts to telling the faithful that they should have the same spirit of false obedience and subservience that has led to the crisis in the first place. They should be wanting to reassure the faithful and commending them for their vigilance in issues that concern their salvation.

Sorry, but that is just hearsay as far as I am concerned. He suspected I was internet theologian even though I never provided  anything to convince him.  I simply ask him to confirm he was conditinally ordained and responded ad hominen. When he comes to NJ, ask him directly. While you are at it ask your usual pastor and tell him to confirm it also. There is no point arguing with these people. You have right to have valid sacraments and crisis requires us to ask the awkward questions.

My pastor knows well the status of Fr. Feeney's ordination, and like I said before, he told me that Fr. Feeney was conditionally confirmed. I have no reason to think he's lying. I can try to ask Fr. Feeney in subtle ways to confirm that his conditional ordination did happen. In my opinion, I think some novus ordo priests who join the SSPX and were conditionally re-ordained, bur refuse to say whether or not they've been conditionally re-ordained, take offense when you ask them because they may say "oh so if I wasn't conditionally re-ordained, you would call me a layman?".

I meant to say that fr. Feeney was conditionally re-ordained, not conditionally confirmed.

I have no belief in conditional ordinations.  They have a different upbringing, a different forming, molding, teaching.  They go to the seminary and go back to school!  There is too much goofing around.  You have the Holy Orders or you don't, forget the wishy-washy!
