  • I could forget about burritos after this.

I was surprised at how much Latin Americans resemble arabs.

Did you know that the Iranians aren't arabs?

Their skin color, complexion, features, ethnic background, etc. are totally different.

  • I knew a girl in college whose family left Iran just before the revolution. She would NEVER refer to it as "Iran" but always as "Persia." Oh, and she was a BEAUTIFUL girl!

I'm not denying this; in fact my post is motivated by a dislike of the Fox News brand of "evil a-rabs". Or the Americans that talk about "all those Arabs out there in the Middle East." who usually couldn't identify any of the countries on a map. (NOT SAYING this is Tiffany! lol  It just brought the issue to mind for me.)

From what I've seen, they are quite different from typical Arabs. I know they are ethnically Persian rather than Arab. Iran has been in the news a lot during the past few years, so I've seen lots of scenes from the country.

I'm sure there's been some mixing because of geographical proximity, etc. and they do have features like dark eyes and hair, but aren't those similarities in the minority?

Isn't their religion even different? Sunni vs. Shiite Muslim? I could be wrong on this point.

Matthew you are correct, they are different sects. They are Shi'te Mulsims and they celebrate the Zoroastrian spring equinox. Some Sufi mystics are found there too. Persia is the Greek word for Iran so Persian/Iranian is the same thing. Americans aren't know for their geography skills so "all those Arabs" doesn't surprise me! :laugh1:

The women are really gorgeous. I tutored some Iranian women in college, I noticed how youthful their skin looked too, they all seemed to age remarkably well.
