Hi all, my sister went to a medium (I do not know why and would never approve or advise her to do so), and I know that going to mediums are a sin however is me asking what was said after the fact a sin?

I don't know if it would be a sin per se, but I wouldn't do it.  It could come across as "egging her on".  I'd discourage it any way I could

My mother told me she sought out the guidance of fortune tellers and witches regarding my children.  Of course I rejected it and did not encourage her in it.  Sadly she died in this sin.

Just out of curiosity, was this in the United States?  

Going to fortune tellers seems more to have been a "thing" in the US, say, in the early 20th century, and isn't something that people would indulge in today, unless it would be certain ethnicities.  You will see clairvoyants setting up shops in Hispanic areas here and there, and probably in Haitian communities as well.  But as to mainstream America, it's not common anymore.

I often think (in connection with mediums) about the false claim of so-called Catholics Ed and Lorraine Warren, with the latter claiming to have been some type of medium or psychic.  They were dabbling in all sorts of stuff they had no business being involved in, though they also claimed that they were endorsed by the Church.  But the more I read about them, the more I realize that they were just frauds and hoaxters, out to make a buck.  Ed was routinely caught making statements to potentially haunted/possessed individuals that they stand to make a lot of money from the incident, hoaxing pictures, exaggerating things ... and there were some sordid allegations about him personally as well.  Then, after the Warrens cashed in, they would give a paltry amount of it to the "afflicted" family.  Unfortunately, they managed to rope Bishop McKenna into some of their exploits.

In any case, there can be no justification for any Catholic to dabble in such things, as it always just provides a gateway for the devil to enter.  I also believe that people's interaction with so-called "AI" poses some of the same risks.  Just as with a Ouija board, when you start attempting to communicate with what you perceive are "intelligences", the devil often presents himself.

No, I don't think that's a sin to ask her. Most of them are scammers and can't even get them right anyway. A family member told me she went to one so she could predict when I would give birth and I found it so creepy. It was wrong btw.

Dear Anonymous,  Please find a true Roman Catholic priest and arrange a minor exorcism.  This would be most beneficial under Confession.

I think it probably depends on the intent.  Is the OP asking because he's/she's interested?  Or is he/she asking in the hopes of setting his/her sister straight (ie. to show how bogus the info is, etc)?
