  • A family member is converting, will be receiving conditional baptism and 1st Communion this year,  and I am wondering how much is the normal amount given as a gift to the priest on such occasions nowadays?

    I know someone who converted and at his baptism he gave $40 even though he was unemployed and needed the money. The next day he recieved a check in the mail for $800.

    In terms of a gift, I would suggest around fifty dollars.  Or whatever you can afford.
