  • French priests deserve respect.  Even Bishop Fellay.
    Wasn 't Archbishop Lefebvre French?

We including myself all need to pray for all priests and even Pope Francis.

  • I'll never forget the good Society priest in S America who told me that all their innovations were coming "from the French"; for example, dialogue Mass,  vernacular readings of the Epistle and Gospel at low Mass.

edit:  sorry, I meant to uncheck anonymous

  • nevertheless, you are correct - they need our prayers.  Only God can turn this ship around, may it please Him that we offer many Masses, fastings and almsgiving for this intention.

I think the down-thumbs are for "As for the French in general...". It is a fact, not an opinion that Bp. Fellay is Swiss.  Unless you're a modernist, you can't disagree with a fact.

Of course all priests deserve respect by virtue of their Divine Office.  Like anyone else, however, the words and actions of priests can be sinful and undeserving of respect.

I don't quite understand the reason for this thread.  Has someone called a French priest a "frog?" I must have missed it!

Bp. Williamson called Bp. Fellay a weasel!  Are all Swiss priests weasels?  No, but, "As for the Swiss in general...?"

    Get it?
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Whatever.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

    Don’t act bewildered.
Do you remember writing another sentence?
Maybe that is what got the thumbs down.

    Let’s try it this way:

    Bishop Fellay is indeed Swiss.

All priests deserve respect. As for the Americans in general…

I can't believe I'm getting "thumbs down" for saying that Bishop Fellay is Swiss!!

I missed it here too, but I noticed that the forum owner did in on another forum that TKGS posts on.
