1. It's not a rumor; the SSPX (and many on "the board" of the chapel you mention) are indeed machinating to take over this (former?) Resistance chapel. I think the SSPX has a weakness for money and real estate the same way a drug addict has a weakness for more drugs. Waving a $700,000 chapel in front of the SSPX is like waving a raw steak in front of a starving dog.
The SSPX is drunk on prestige, power, fame, and all that. They have fallen so far from the ideals of their saintly founder, Archbishop Lefebvre. Today, any good they do is SO THAT they can keep the people happy, get more money, maintain their authority, power and influence, etc. How can I tell? When Catholic morality and pursuit of more fame/power/money are at odds, which do they choose? Which is their priority? The organization always selfishly chooses "the benefit of the SSPX" even when souls are damaged as a result.
The SSPX has also been caught violating God's commandments for the good of the organization (in their propaganda, etc.). "The ends justify the means" -- which is not a Catholic principle, by the way.
2. Fr. Morel is completely against these machinations.
3. I haven't yet received the full package of evidence, "the full story", etc. I've received a pretty complete report of what's going on there, from someone very close to the events, but I'm still waiting for a promised dossier or package of evidence related to this matter.
