Is he officially the Emeritus Superior or Honorary Superior? Fr Couture is also Emeritus Superior of Ireland. But Angles' position is similar to Pope Benny's. He's not moved out of the country. Maybe he could move to Singapore. On second thoughts, no.

Wont living in a cold, damp country aggravate such a condition? Wouldn't the dry, sunny weather of his native Spain be beneficial? What's the matter with these guys?

Fr Couture just loves Ireland! Why? Wasn't he not at Post falls prior to that? He has never spoken about that place. And he never speaks about his home country. He has said that the Asia District is the best in the world ( to Fr Lester ...famous last words?). Why, when some would say it is the worst?. Maybe he wants to stay there forever with the occasional visit to Ireland.

Fr Lester was the first Bursar ever to be appointed in the Asia District, long after its foundation. Appointed to keep a tab on things. I believe he has left the SSPX (and the priesthood I was once told, but cannot confirm this).

The Asia District Bursar's post again went sede vacante for some years until Fr Laisney recently filled the seat. He and Couture are a mutual admiration society. So there will be no hiccups.

There's everything to like about Ireland. The country, the pubs, the food, and of course, the people.

The same story the world over, in every continent. Travel is easier, people are willing to do certain type of work that they wont do at home, there are population declines and emigration which keep the door open for others to come in. In your case, you have St Patrick to turn to. May he intercede for all once-Catholic places.

How is the SSPX doing in Ireland today? Was it's heyday under Fr Couture and did it spin into decline? Has it revived under Fr Morgan?
