  • The dad [webmaster of a wicked site] is a US Postal mail carrier for years, who is headed for a sweet pension. He laments that he was, in upper case, "SHUNNED BY GOFUND".

All this Breaking SNews  is on his home page:

    AN EARNEST REQUEST

The following is an important message from the founder and primary author of this website:

"... When we first opened this website we actually asked for donations for the site! We quickly stopped doing that and only asked once more when we were in danger of losing the site a couple of years ago. Now we are not asking for donations/charity for the site but for our family. For a family that is making a gigantic effort to escape the daily routine drawn out by the world which involves a father being away from home and not involved with his wife and children. Will you consider helping and ask your friends and family?

If you would like to help please CONTACT US for options on how to donate. It is totally up to you."

  • So he’s asking strangers to support him  and his family so he can stay home and do... what?

I’ll bet there were thousands of farmers and ranchers back in the day who would have loved such a sweet deal.

I’m all for home based businesses that keep a family together but I suspect it takes time to make a go of it so no one should quit their day job prematurely.

  • What a joke.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

Please disregard everything I have said; I have tended to speak before fact checking.

  • "About us" pages are important.

Toward the end of the 19th century ... the years went on and on without the Papacy

This poisonous Morbeto, is into the Richard Ibranyi [who admits he is of Jєωιѕн descent] thing, of excommunicating popes. Morbeto cautions his readers to avoid the writings of the Holy Fathers' Pope Leo XIII and Pope St. Pius X etc. And as I recall, says he is in the process of "cleansing" his websites of their writings (i.e., papal encyclicals, allocutions...).

  • "About us" pages are important.

Please remember: We are not associated in any way with any group or organization such as SSPX, CMRI, The Resistance, the Dimond Brothers, "Tradcatknight", and we do not approve nor favor "Hobson"/TodaysCatholicWorld" nor his "father" Khoats, "Catholic" Family News, "Novus Ordo Watch", WE ARE NOT FEENEYITES, WE ARE NOT "SEDEVACANTISTS", we reject "the two witnesses" website and the pretended Catholic Youtube group called "Defeat Modernism". . . the list goes on and on and we are not in complete agreement with any other site in the English speaking world which we have found online so don't be fooled by impostors!!

How about the Hebrew speaking world?

  • What a great idea!  Quit my job and let benevolent strangers support me and my family!  I'd love to spend more time with elderly parents.  Maybe we could spend the winter in Florida!  Or I could buy my nephew a nice condo in Vermont.  There's lots of things I could be doing to help my nieces and nephews if I didn't work.  I can hear the ski slopes and seashore beaconing..... :fryingpan:

  • I don't see the point of this thread. If they think they have enough readers to support themselves by blogging, why criticize them? It will either work or it won't. No one is forcing you to send them donations. There are people who make a living teaching other people how to make a living by blogging, so it's not a crazy idea. For every one success in this, there are hundreds of failures, but why ridicule them for trying? I doubt he's going to quit his job before he can afford to do so.

  • What the OP posted is misleading. The OP didn't quote the whole letter in which they explain they are attempting to CHANGE income sources to food services / catering, not live indefinitely off blog donations.

    Quote
We have a few projects we are working on to bring in some additional income. This is why we have become affiliates with bookstores like ABEBOOKS and BIBLIO but our primary source of income will be in food concessions/catering. Our current financial situation is a bit complicated to write out in an website post. The bottom line is we will need some financial aid in order to make the transition from my current employment to our final goal a comfortable one. Without such aid we are not sure it will ever happen.
I do know of someone who attempted to live mostly off of blog donations. Despite having a very popular blog and a very bare-bones lifestyle, he often lamented that donations were rare. Nonetheless, there's nothing inherently wrong with trying.

Blogging (i.e., writing) is neutral. It's what's written that absolutely matters. Contrary to the childish retort... words can be infinitely more lethal than "sticks and stones".

The Church incontrovertibly would say that a perverted soul like Morbeto, who uses Catholic language for his own devices, is a much worse threat, than say, a Voltaire.

So there is everything wrong with that demon (Morbeto) trying to ask "a little help from his friends", so that he can better disseminate his soul-killing poison to the winds.

  • Then attack his theology and leave is wife's homemaking blog / catering business out of it.

The irony is that posting his request here is giving it a much wider audience than it otherwise would have had. I'm sure he appreciates your help.

"There has never been a time when this watchfulness of the supreme pastor was not necessary to the Catholic body, for owing to the efforts of the enemy of the human race, there have never been lacking “men speaking perverse things,”1 “vain talkers and seducers,”2 “erring and driving into error.”3 It must, however, be confessed that these latter days have witnessed a notable increase in the number of the enemies of the Cross of Christ, who, by arts entirely new and full of deceit, are striving to destroy the vital energy of the Church, and, as far as in them lies, utterly to subvert the very Kingdom of Christ." -Pope St. Pius X, from his Encyclical "Pascendi Dominici Gregis"
