  • I don't see the point of this thread. If they think they have enough readers to support themselves by blogging, why criticize them? It will either work or it won't. No one is forcing you to send them donations. There are people who make a living teaching other people how to make a living by blogging, so it's not a crazy idea. For every one success in this, there are hundreds of failures, but why ridicule them for trying? I doubt he's going to quit his job before he can afford to do so.
There's no harm in trying a new business.  However, it appears he was quite irresponsible in that a husband and father quit his job without the new plans being fully in place first, and is now asking other to support his family because of his irresponsible decision.

  • I think there is an increasing number of effeminate men today, who are making this excuse of "not being away from family" "spending more time with the children" etc... just so they don't go out to work and face the world; but stay at home instead, being slothful while keeping their families in poverty. Silly wives believe them and allow themselves to live in such conditions! They enable the emasculation.

Men belong out in the world, not at home. I would not trust a domestic man.

Interesting insight, and that Adam Morbeto is a thin-skinned whiner type, who more than one person has said exhibits effeminate mannerisms - in his voice, etc. I'm not into psychology stuff, and have never used the phrase, but the term "passive aggressive" comes to mind.

I just looked it up...  Wikipedia:

    Psychology (Passive-aggressive)

"In psychology, passive aggressive behavior is characterized by a habitual pattern of non-active resistance to expected work requirements, opposition, sullenness, stubbornness, and negative attitudes in response to requirements for normal performance levels expected by others. Most frequently it occurs in the workplace, where resistance is exhibited by indirect behaviors as procrastination, forgetfulness, and purposeful inefficiency, especially in reaction to demands by authority figures, but it can also occur in interpersonal contexts."

  • This thread is the perfect example of the unfortunate and embarrassing nastiness so prevalent in the trad world. Agree or disagree with him, but why the personal attacks? Especially on his wife and her blog. Leave her alone, would you?
    Yep!

  • Wait - I don’t have to work to support my family anymore, you can do it all for me? Sweet, let the dollars fly, folks!  :jester:

The "Earnest Request" appeal was scrubbed from his site, as was the Tuna Cakes recipe dumped on the other. Lol.

  • What the OP posted is misleading. The OP didn't quote the whole letter in which they explain they are attempting to CHANGE income sources to food services / catering, not live indefinitely off blog donations.

More revealing info on the deceptive Adam Mobeto, of Silver Lake, Kansas:

Actually not sure if there is a current income source. The derelict dad, Mobeto, spends multiple hours attacking the Catholic Church by word. As for one example, he wrote a 139 page pdf against Our Lady of Fatima.

A food (catering?) company he registered is, "Dissolved" according to the State of Kansas., see: https://www.bizapedia.com/ks/king-of-nations-cuisine-llc.html

Before he scrubbed his site today, he had written the following, as noted earlier in this thread: "Now we are not asking for donations/charity for the site but for our family. For a family that is making a gigantic effort to escape the daily routine drawn out by the world which involves a father being away from home and not involved with his wife and children."

    See: https://www.cathinfo.com/anonymous-posts-allowed/former-st-mary's-sspx-family-asks-for-your-$-to-leave-daily-duty/msg593695/#msg593695

Mobeto lives out in the "fast-paced" dirt road, sticks of Kansas. His dishwasher machine is busted, according to the seller property disclosure statement he personally signed - less than two weeks ago - in his effort to sell his broken down, dirty, pink house. (And this "man" is blaming GoFundMe.com for his problems?!?)

From Adam "Beyond Postal" Mobeto's About Us page, on his site:

"It is very hard, in our days of lies and deception, permeating the air, to be perfect in determining what is a lie and what is not. We know full well the precarious state we put ourselves in when we operate a website such as this one. Contagions of falsity permeate the air all around us.
There are all kinds of traps and pitfalls the Devil sets all around us. We are in danger of being prideful for seeing what others don't. However, the truth must be told, we are dedicated to this fact. At the risk of appearing overconfident: we must put our candle upon a candlestick for all to see. The light of Catholic truth which God gives a soul cannot be justifiably hidden from the world... ."

I reply... "by their fruits you shall know them." Mobeto is rotten to the core.

  • Threads like this are an abuse of the Anonymous subforum.  Rather than  discussing a sensitive issue, the subforum's intended purpose, some coward has used it to launch a personal attack on a man and his family.

If a man is teaching wrong ideas, then point out his errors.  But if you do not care about these errors enough to stand against them under your name, why should anyone take you seriously?

It is cowardly to mock people and tear them down while hiding one's own identity.

  • Wow, I cant believe people are so heartless. Yes, he doesn't sound like the most admirable man on earth. His wife's food doesn't look like 3 star Michelin, who cares. What ever happened to just ignoring what other people are doing, and trying to save our own souls. No wonder people can't stand trads.
Maybe I'm just extra sensitive being in my first trimester but I'm dumbfounded at the lack of charity. Let the guy try his dumb ventures and fail, he's not shaking you down for money, click the 'X' on the top of his webpage and it goes away.
I really hope it was a bunch of women hen-pecking him because it is a huge sign of low testosterone when men get all offended about what other people are doing. News flash: men who are concerned with their faith and family first, don't care about other's business ventures. In fact, genuinely GOOD men might even offer a rosary for him and his family.

  • Wise words, lapetitefleur. Don't let it spoil your CathInfo experience. Come and pay a visit to the women only section for a reprieve from the nastiness.

Not saying that women can't be nasty, but this anonymous allowed is greatly abused by cowardly nasty types, whether male or female.
