  • What sort of fertility treatments are morally acceptable?  Clearly, IVF is absolutely forbidden, but what about other things?

For instances, there are drugs that can increase fertility in both men and women.  They do not destroy life or create it outside the context of the marital act; they just make the marital act "more fertile."

    Thoughts?

  • There is nothing immoral about naturally augmenting the body's ability to achieve the temporal ends God designed it for.

In principle, its no different than adopting a particular diet or exercise routine.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • I know of someone down south who would eat yams all the time, and wondered why she wasn't getting pregnant. Some foods have qualities which impede ovulation. Sometimes, it's a matter of looking at your diet, and not resorting to chemicals, or pharmaceuticals, to solve your infertility problems. Diet is not solely a woman's issue either. Sometimes a man eats things that make him infertile, and this should be looked at as well.

Back in the day, we didn't have this constant barrage of chemicals being foisted upon us on a daily basis. These chemicals affect people differently. Sometimes looking at exposure to chemicals, especially ingestion of these things through food, can really help determine the cause of infertility problems.

Some people also don't think about the absorption of chemicals through their skin. Your skin is the biggest organ on your body, and if you're using soaps, and lotions, among other personal care products, that have a great amount of unpronounceable ingredients in them, you might want to take a close look at that too.

If you change your diet to include necessary vitamins, exclusion of chemicals in soaps, among other things that can expose us unduly to impediments to conception, et cetera, and that doesn't help, then consult a priest for a good direction to take.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

Absolutely you did, just not in the form of pharmaceuticals.  Toxic pesticides, toxic preservatives, toxins from smokestacks, toxins from sewage, etc., etc. etc.  Don't turn false nostalgia into fact.

I wasn't talking about the 1960's and 1970's as "back in the day."

Nor was I.  For example, this was Pittsburgh in the 1940s, and no, that isn't fog.

  • Yes, there are toxins that are derived from the burning of coal. Who owned a ton of interest in the coal mines back then? Well, it was the same guys that own the gas companies and have huge bank holdings.

These are the same dudes that are trying to genetically modify cotton right now, to contain a sterilant to males. It's called Gossypol.

So yes, there is a concerted effort on the part of the eugenicists to eliminate swaths of the population by the unwitting consumption of things like this.

I'm not even saying that everything was peachy keen in the 1940's either, but I think anyone that's informed would agree that we're exposed to entirely too many chemicals, MOSTLY synthetic ones, that has been "approved as safe" by the Fraudulent Drug Administration. (FDA)

  • What is that one with initials beginning Nab? or p  i heard that the procedure is taking of sperm and an egg in a syringe with a bubble between them.  In the New Order  and some nfp are saying it is acceptable, and I say it is not.  It is out of the natural means,  and someone here on the forum will be able to say what that procedure is.

  • NaProTECHNOLOGY
pioneered by the Catholic OB/GYN Dr. Hilgers. He's truly a modern Dr. Semmelweis!

Find a NaPro doctor in your area.

NaPro is very amazing. It's more than just assessing fertility. It can do all these things (source):

Targeted hormone assessment of the menstrual cycle.
Sonographic classification of human ovulation disorders.
Evaluation and treatment of premenstrual syndrome, postpartum depression, ovarian cysts, and unusual bleeding.
Applications in infertility evaluation and treatment (and its effectiveness), osteoporosis, cancer detection, follicular and luteal phase deficiencies, and thyroid system dysfunction.
Effects of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian dysfunction, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian disease, pelvic adhesive disease, amenorrhea, and anovulation.
Perinatal applications: progesterone use during pregnancy, preventing preterm birth, evaluating and treating recurrent spontaneous abortion, and diagnostic laparoscopy.
Surgical techniques for endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, uterine leiomyomata, ovarian wedge resection, and tubal occlusions.

Most gynecologists today would just prescribe some carcinogenic pill before seeking the underlying causes that NaPro can discover. E.g., NaPro can assess eversion or ectropion, a cervical erosion or cervicitis, with 75% accuracy. NaPro is also more effective than in virtro fertilization (IVF) for achieving pregnancy!

Read also Dr. Hilger's book Unleashing the Power.
