  • St. Jerome, because of his militancy.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • St. Augustine.

A most Holy and miraculous conversion in the mist of a life darkened by sin. The genius of this man and his contribution to the Catholic Faith are incomparable.

Let's not forget his holy mother also, st. Monica, who converted the unbeliever husband and was like an angel in her son's life.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  •  :dancing-banana:Wow!  Hard to choose!  Right now, the Cure d'Ars, for his great love of souls.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • St Joseph, I chose him as my confirmation saint because God deemed him worthy to be the spouse of the Immaculate Blessed Virgin Mary, and the foster Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Doesn't get much better than that!!

Why does this thread need to be in the anonymous subforum, why not general discussion???

  • Saint Hyacinth - As the Mongols were attacking, Saint Hyacinth goes to save the ciborium with Blessed Sacrament and a nearby statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary says "save me too", so with the ciborium in one hand and a large statue of Mary in the other, he escapes the attack.

  • Hard to choose...
My favorite blessed is Blessed Miguel Pro, who should totally be canonized because if hes not a saint, I'll eat my hat!
He lived like a ninja priest and died like the victim soul that he was.
He celebrated the Holy Mass when priests were practicing guerrilla catholicism at risk of their own lives to keep the sacraments alive. And when they had him literally up against the wall, renounce the Faith or die, he opened his arms like Christ on the Cross and yelled "VIVA CHRISTO REY!" (Long live Christ the King) and they shot him down. He died like warrior, with his rosary still wrapped around his right hand.
     :dwarf:
I want to go like that, with complete trust in God and enough guts to shout for His glory against impossible odds.

My favorite saint is probably St. Teresa of Avila. Her sense of humor is what really brought me to catholicism. Not all catholics are snooty and stodgy and nitpicky, not even the saints! She had so much wisdom and understanding and an incredible comprehension of the mysteries of the faith, and she was kind enough to write it down for the rest of us, with a hearty dose of snarky quips. She's my kind of saint, what can I say?
    Matthew 6:34
" Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."

I started this thread, and I made it anonymous so people would protect their privacy and reveal their identity on this subject only if they wish.

For some people what saint they have a devotion to can be something theyd rather keep to themselves. For example: If someone said they are devoted to Padre Pio. ( Who was canonized according to the new rules).

You mean like this guy. I just threw up. He should've definitely kept that to himself.
