Never heard of him, but not existing online doesn’t mean he’s not a priest. Some people don’t use social media. For example, I post on CI, but not under my real name—not a good idea for a single woman who lives alone. I don’t use Facebook, Twitter, or any of the social media sites, ever. I’ve never used them. I have no desire to give strangers information about me, and I do not care to delve into other’s lives. The idea of “following” someone I don’t know in person, to me is, well, “Why would anyone want to do that?” The idea that people are “following” me, is just creepy. I keep in touch with my friends in person, if possible, or by telephone or old-fashioned snail mail. Most of my friends are older, 65+, and don’t use iPhones or technology. The very few that do, we sometimes use email. I have a tablet, that’s it. My phone is a non-internet Nokia cell phone.
Perhaps this priest values his privacy and wishes to not be constantly “connected” in order to pray and meditate? I’ve looked myself up online and find a number of people with my name, but none of them are me! If a prospective employer looked for me online, he’d be disappointed.
