  • What is the right response to a young adult child who is fallen away from the Faith, lives a depraved lifestyle (body mutilation, weird hair, goth/punk clothes)?  How do you handle their visits to your home if there are still minor children in the house?  We are seeking a conversion but this child's appearance is very very disturbing (and sɛҳuąƖly ambiguous).

Other distant family members who are also fallen away and worldy think this person is cool and they validate and reinforce the behavior.

    Help??????????

  • I don't know what to say except that you cannot be a party to scandalous behavior.

  • Would you allow a stranger who came to your home looking like this to enter?  To influence your minor children towards evil in your home?  As difficult as it may be, you need to set firm rules as to proper conduct and appearance in your home and on your property.  If you do not, you'll lose the remaining children.   Make it clear that God's honor comes first, even over love for your child.

    This.

I can't imagine how painful this must be for you. Pray a novena to Our Lady of Good Success with great fervor. Have some true Masses said for her conversion. Tell her that she must announce herself to you before approaching, and that you don't want her near any of the other children in the state she's in. As long as she's acting the way she is, you can't have her anywhere near the siblings.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

  • As painful it must be, you need to stop him from visiting your home, as it may be a bad influence on your younger children. A son or other family member displaying such a sinful behavior must be treated as if with a contagious disease.

  • A parents' prayers for their children are more efficacious than others' prayers, they have special value before God.
