  • I mean 45 decades total in one day.

Note: monks and nuns don't count, only normal people living in the world.

Not that I think monks and nuns are in this forum, but just in case.

  • Yes.  More than 45 on several occasions.  Why do you want to know?

  • Wow. That's great. I just wanted to see how many Rosaries other people prayed, to see if many prayed a lot or not.

More than 45 you say? Around how many? And what's the most days in a row that you did this?

  • I strive for 3 rosaries a day.  Rosaries are needed.  I say one every day with my husband and 2 rosaries when I walk for exercise.

No, "1 Rosary" is 15 decades, all 3 mysteries.

  • The circuмstances of praying 45+ decades were during Hurricane Sandy as the storm surge surrounded the house and when flying through a bad storm between NY and London.  I fly only when necessary.

  • I believe in quality not quantity, at least for myself not judging anyone else.

I pray as long as I can properly meditate, as soon as I start day dreaming, I either switch to another prayer or take a break.

I believe in quality not quantity

Whenever someone says this, "quality not quantity" during prayer, the obvious implication is that the additional prayers are automatically deemed to be of a bad and inferior quality than the "normal" or minimal amount.

Why do they always say this? Why is it always implied that additional prayers will be of inferior quality?

This seems like a reflex and unconscious response, as if the person making such a remark already believes more prayer will be lacking in quality because of - what? Why?
