    Why would G00gle cherry pick the results, manipulating them and skewing them a certain direction, if they are just a business selling advertising, running a search engine, or hosting videos with ads? They're a business, not a high priest of a religion, or an arbiter of truth. WHY are they doing this? What is their motivation?

    Yes, and why the censorship?  Youtube videos get removed and shadowbanned.

    It's like how they censor Ivermectin info and doctors who disagree with the proscribed narrative.

    That doesn't mean everything a FE researcher says is true of course, but it's a very strange phenomenon that puts up a red flag.

    Because they control 90% of the market.  They are an effective monopoly and have the power to do what they like and push their power and control on the world.

    Besides the first question, "Why would they get involved, carrying out such censorship, when it has nothing to do with the business goal of making money selling ads, running a search engine, and hosting videos."

    There is also the secondary question: why attack Flat Earth in particular? Let's put it this way: everything Google cherry picks to the front is for the detriment of mankind, to hide the truth.

    Can you give ONE example where Google censors an opinion, making sure the first 10-20 search results push position X (the opposite of the censored opinion), where X is actually GOOD for mankind and the cause of Truth?

    I've heard of Google doing this in many cases, but never on the side of the truth. They always prop up lies, and censor/blacklist the truth. In 100% of cases. Prove me wrong.

    Show me another case. It's pretty easy to prove that a given set of search results aren't organic; that certain results have been artificially removed. There ARE other search engines out there as a control group. Google admitted to doing this during recent US elections, for example.

    They are already handling 90 percent, there is no more money left to make. 

    It might be part of the deal with other groups who want to censor free speech.  You can own the monopoly and we won't break it up.

    But don't project that to flat earth nonsense because Jews were not running the British empire at the time of Captain James Cook, sextant, and the invention of the marine chronometer.

    Neither did the Jews get to Pythagoras.

    Ok, let's say they're 90% of the market, and that's close enough to 100% for them.

    Why are they so involved in social change, politics, bringing us towards Communism, and suppressing/censoring the truth in so many areas?

    Because they are EVIL, that's why. It's not just about money for them. The devil isn't going to do 9 evil deeds and then one beautiful, virtuous one. No, everything the devil does furthers the devil's aims. And the devil has NO good aims or goals for humanity, that's for sure.

    How can you be so sure that the anti-flat earth videos are more popular? This may be true, but how would you assess that in an unbiased manner?

    That's not how search engines work. There are hundreds of metrics that go into ranking websites in the search engines; much of that is still "on-page" content: keywords used, titles, headings, etc. Yes, there are some external signals as well such as inbound links -- that is where popularity comes in. But Flat Earth forums and fans can link to the stuff they like too.

    When you search for "clinton ѕυιcιdєs" the first 10 results shouldn't be "Hillary For President!" websites. Not saying that is literally true, just making up an example based on REAL past experience. Google CAN and DOES tweak the search results -- injecting their own editorial opinion, as it were, overriding what the normal algorithms would deliver.

    As I said above, I've actually seen proof of this. Other search engines DO exist. I've seen side-by-side comparisons of various controversial search terms -- the verdict is in, Google IS cooking the results.

    Google got to where they are today because they managed to deliver the most relevant content for a given search term. They used to give the best search results. Those were the good old days. I was on the Net in the mid-90's, even before Google came out. My first forays onto "the World Wide Web" came through Prodigy or AOL.

    Counter-point: who's googling Flat Earth content?

    99.99% of people may be Globe Earthers, but these aren't the people searching for Flat Earth videos. Only people who either believe or are interested in Flat Earth would look it up. Sure some people would be looking for quick debunk videos, but I'd still wager the majority of people looking for Flat Earth content are looking for videos arguing in favour of it, to see if the arguments convince them. So it seems strange to me that all the top videos would be anti-Flat Earth.
