  • Anyone else tired of commercials where the dad is an idiot?

AT&T has been playing one for the longest time about this idiot dad who can't comprehend the idea of wireless Internet, so his daughter tells him that the Internet cord is invisible.

Now AT&T has one where this boy's dad is a total wuss who cries.

  • Almost every commercial is that way.  The men are always depicted as dumb or behind the times & a woman always comes to their rescue.  In ATT's commercial, not only is it a female but a girl!

Also notice how they always depict men doing more & more "woman's work".

It's now rare to see any man or woman in traditional roles - or not being sɛҳuąƖized.

  • Evidently these companies who repeatedly make commercials like this don't have any respect for the hard working males that pay for their products and services. Any company that regularly insults their customer base should be boycotted.

  • I would mind less if once in a while it was a woman who was the idiot, but I guess that would be sexist.

I remember a Kikkoman's soy sauce commercial where the family was flying through the clouds on the way home, and everyone had a graceful landing except for the dad, who flew into the closed sliding glass door.

  • Yes, but there is no need to allow yourself to be subjected to this social engineering. Eject the idiot box! Then when someone asks did you see blah blah blah on TV you can shock them and say I don't have TV You never know it could catch on??!! :tv-disturbed:

  • I actually watch very little television, but I live with people who do watch.

It's hard to not notice what is going on when you are in the room.

  • If this regime supported patriarchy, they wouldn't have a need to mock women, but with this "equality jazz" (envy masquerading as something just) i guess there's this insatiable desire to bash, bash, bash.

  • Anyone who buys into it is contributing to the destruction of society.

Some women think it's funny to see men demeaned, and at home, they practice ridicule of their husband. That's where it ends up. They apparently have no clue of the damage they do to their own life, security, and relationship by this cheap practice. Their man will not love them when they don't respect him. So what they're doing is trading off the thing they desire most, to be loved by their husband, for a few minutes of pride and self-aggrandizement.

It's not just women, though. Men may think they are "playing the game" by being a good sport and laughing at themselves, but it doesn't help matters when they are not strong and don't hold their ground.

A wise woman (and they are still around, by the way) knows that the way to make her life the fullest and her joys the greatest is to support her man, because then he will go all-out to please her in return.

But that's lost on feminists, to their own misfortune. And the end result is the destruction of society, because divorce increases, and unfaithfulness increases, and it's always the children who suffer. The children are the next generation, which means society.

BTW: I got rid of TV in our house about 15 years ago. Highly recommend it.
You'll get a lot of flak, but you get rid of the incessant drivel of garbage, and that's all it is. I recall going to Manchester NH 10 years ago and telling a clerk at the car rental kiosk that I don't have a TV and I don't watch TV. She looked at me aghast, as though I must be from another planet. I laughed at her and she blushed. That was fun.
