  • a very sad part of the tragedy known as "the OJ Simpson Case":

(Nichole was raised Catholic... not sure what that even means, all things considered... but anyway...)

Nichole was being seriously abused by OJ one night in the 80s. A cop showed up. She was shaking with fear and sobbing, sitting on the hood of a Mercedes (i believe it was a M) and OJ was not far away holding a baseball bat. The cop said he was so enraged (OJ was) that veins in his forehead were protruding. He told OJ to drop the bat. He didn't do it, just stood there looking enraged. The cop repeated the command in a more serious tone. Suddenly OJ seemed to come out of a trance (my word), looked at the cop and said, "Oh.. sorry, Officer" and put the bat down.

The cop asked Nichole if she wanted to press charges. She said No.

The cop, later in an interview said that he told her, "It's your life"  This cop had great sympathy for Nichole, didn't want her to live like that, etc..

But you know... He was wrong. It was not her life... had not been "her life" for many years (probably hadn't been "her life" since she met that monster)

and then the awful end came for her... and we all saw the extent to which..

    it was NOT her life...

And we need to remember this kind of thing (of not being in control of your "own life") whenever we see other cases of extreme domestic abuse.

We have to keep in mind this (you'd think DUH) thing, that women are not as strong as men, physically and also in worldly power. It is still a man's world and probably always will be.. Nichole had no power.. If she had filed charges against him... well, we see what he would have (did) do when she finally stood up to him...

It seems few  want to ever believe that there are adults in this world who have  NO control over their lives..
