    • confession time: I sometimes do not care. Well, part of me doesn't. Part of me cares probably too much. Talk about being conflicted... but anyhow. I have seen so much un-Christian, anti-Christian stuff in my life that I am fed up. And I naturally find myself not caring much if others don't make it. I mean, for crying out loud! They themselves do not care, it seems. But I remind myself they are not all Catholic and it is my job to make them Catholic. And I am not doing a good job a lot of the time...  :-X I have decided to give up this one activity I used to think was necessary... so I can work on bringing people into... sigh.. heck, not even sure  I myself want to be in the Church, but I can tell them about the traditional Church that I myself am not attending... not b/c I don't want to attend but b/c it is a real hassle to do so... not a small inconvenience, that. 

    Well, anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

    I guess part of me says: Well, they deserve Hell. But of course, who am I to say that? And "God is not willing that any should perish" so we cannot be willing either

    I wish I had a traditionalist friend who could work with me. That would be nice.

    • It shouldn't be disturbing. This world is not a utopia; it is a vale of tears run by anti-Catholics / atheists. Catholics (even if you include Novus Ordites) are a minority of the world's population, and not even all Catholics are saved. If Traditional Catholics only comprise <0.7% of all Catholics, and Catholics are ~⅛ of the world's population, I'd guess <100,000 of those alive today will be saved.

    • What upsets me when I think about it, is yes, they deserve Hell, but so did I at one time for sure.  My life was not pleasing to God, yet He in His mercy preserved my soul for the day I would accept His grace and repent. 

    What should disturb you and I and everyone is the fact that Jesus suffered and died for all these souls that we see as being so evil.  Can you even imagine how He feels after His passion and death when most souls, as you say, end up in Hell!  When I was a child in Catholic school I was told that the reason Jesus sweat blood was because He saw each of us and saw how so many rebelled.

    • If you can, read the "Glories of Mary".  That will give you another side of the coin.  Mary has brought many to salvation.  Not only is Our Lady most Glorious, her true stories of those saved will bring Joy!

    • It disturbs me to think that I have not done and am not doing all that I can to evangelize others, and it disturbs me that probably in the past I did or said something that may have helped point someone in the direction of Hell instead of Heaven.

    I will be held to account for those things. Sin has consequences, for the sinner and for the victim of the sin.

    May God have mercy on us all.

    You still deserve hell.  Even one mortal sin is deserving of an eternity in hell.  It will only be by the mercy of God that you MIGHT not end up there.  
    I hope it feels good to think that you no longer deserve hell, while others do.  Dangerous presumption to me . . .

    • Do I deserve Hell? I know that I definitely have not merited heaven. If I am allowed to enter heaven it will be to the mercy and generosity of God, through the intercession of Our Lady and the saints I have asked for prayers. It bothers me much to know that untold numbers of others will go to Hell, no doubt many I am personally acquainted with. But I know I must also keep working on my own salvation with fear and trembling. I am a weak fool not to put this above all else every moment that I continue to breathe.

    • We are playing around in mud and we think that we are clean ("good") because we see the world playing around in manure sludge.
     
     St. Francis said that as God is the Light, as we come closer to him, it is as if we bring a light closer and closer to us. When we look at ourselves in the mirror, the less light we have, the less imperfections we see, the more perfect we think we are. As we add (receive) more light, get closer to God, we begin to see more and more of our imperfections, wrinkles, scars, pimples, blackheads, pores. We are blind as to what we really are. When St. Francis died, he was convinced that he deserved Hell, and entrusted himself to God’s Mercy. He knew that he was not clean because he compared himself to the God he was so close to. ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI!

    • In my experience the most import evangelization we can do is to give a good example by your deeds and appearance. If we live a truly Catholic life, others will see it. Almost every time  we take our my family (6 children under 15) to a restaurant, someone comes up to us to congratulate us on how well the children behave. The children love food because their mother is a great chef, so they eat adult food from all over the world and they talk and enjoy the company and the celebration. It is not because they sit silently like robots. When we go to restaurants, they are always dressed like for mass. The girls do not wear pants or shorts ever. People SEE the difference. On two occasions we had our meals paid by perfect strangers who never identified themselves, over +-$100 each time! When we go to the beach, the girls wear fully covering bathing suits and the boys wear shirts (We always go to beaches with few people). People see us and they realize that their children are in their underwear. They see our children playing, surfing, swimming and enjoying themselves, they also come to compliment us and ask how we do it with 6 children (another example, very few people have more that 1-2 children)......... I could go on and on with such examples.

    Thanks for that, I have been reflecting on it off and on all day, and sent it to a few people I thought would appreciate it as well. It brought to mind when high definition TV first came around, and all of a sudden the beautiful celebrities weren't so flawless anymore. The more I study and pray the more I realize how weak and full of faults I am. Like removing the big boulders blocking the garden gate... and then realizing it is full of weeds, rocks and saplings that must be dealt with before proceeding further.

    so, I am a rare breed :) but I knew that. I didn't know it was only .7%

    yes, we have to plug our noses and pray for  those people who do heinous things.. .abortionists, pornographers, e tc
