  • Does anyone fear that the SSPX will find out you post here and then take action against you? I fear that sometimes because I have revealed enough information so that someone paid attention to my posts could figure out who I was.

  • If you fear that from a religious leader, it's time to go.

  • If you really have to fear that, what are you doing to yourself by staying? If your chapel is that accordista/liberal/sold out, you might want to join the expanding list of those who have left the SSPX.

There is such a thing as "a time to leave" when things have become too cult-like or pro-Modernist Rome. If they stop preaching the truth and only the truth, it's time to leave.

I realize it's difficult, because the Resistance is about as developed as my 5-month-old (probably less so). Most places don't get Mass *ever*, including some locations with established, committed Resistance congregations and a permanent, dedicated location for Mass (with some professional Mass equipment!)

Staying at home on Sunday is a big move; not one that I'd ever want to have to make. It's especially harmful for those with young children.

  • I think my fears might be irrational though because I have no reason to have them because I haven't seen such action in my chapel and my priest allows all kinds of opinions there including sedevacantism without correcting them. I fear things that are unlikely sometimes because I hear about something happening at another chapel somewhere and I fear it might happen here. But there are more high profile posters here who are not anonymous and nothing has happened to them so my fears might be unfounded, though I think something was done against Matthew for running cathinfo, though I forget what it was.

I wonder what would happen if I told my priest to his face that I supported the resistance. I wonder if he would take action against me then.

  • No!  I'm fairly sure the priest at  my SSPX chapel knows who I am on this site.  I know he reads it.  He's never asked me, but if he does, he'll learn nothing he doesn't already know.

  • The previous post is from Frances.  :dancing:
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Priests should not be on the Internet.

FYI--To get a Mass going in your town try contacting Fr. Pfeiffer's administrator.  He can set it up for you.

    Yeah, sure.

No disrespect to Fr. Pfeiffer, but given his current schedule he's not going to be saying Mass in the States anytime soon, nevermind Mass at a new Resistance center with a few families.

There are established locations that haven't seen a Resistance Mass in many months.

It's really a joke when I still see people giving that January-2013 advice: "Want to have Mass in your location? Get organized, contact Fr. Pfeiffer, etc."

As if Fr. Pfeiffer is just waiting around for places to go.

Even if he did visit you for some reason, you'd have to wait MANY MONTHS before he'd ever be back even once. I speak from experience on this.

  • It would seem to me that Father Pfeiffer's travels (and the travels of other resistance priests), which are necessary to minister to those who understand what has happened, are likely to be very costly.

For that reason, it isn't surprising Father Pfeiffer cannot give all locations equal priority.

I know. As I've said before, I realize that my own particular location is very isolated like Alaska or Hawaii. That is, he would have to fly in, say Mass, and fly out. No possibility of driving to other nearby areas, since there are none. Texas is too isolated geographically.

Plus Houston is a much more prominent airport -- a hub -- compared to San Antonio which isn't prominent at all. It's an international airport, but it's a very small one.

That having been said, the Fathers haven't been to the Houston area yet.

But the Houston area still retains Father Dardis, or does it?

He is Independent now, and in another state. For a while I was hoping he'd join the "travelling priests". Oh well.

  • I definitely fear being discovered by my chapel.

I run a big doughnut/coffee concession at one of the Mass centers.

The folks really enjoy my coffees, and their overweight children eagerly woof-down my tasty doughnuts.

So, if it was revealed I was a CI member, the pastor would likely shut down my popular coffee and send me packing.

I would be disgraced, lose income, but worst of all, I fear some of my regular parishioners might go into diabetic shock.

Giving this business up would be hard for my pride and reputation.

So there you have it. I live in fear, and must remain in the "SSPX closet" as long as I can.

  •  :jester:

I think many would overlook a good deal of things to keep their weekly doughnuts.
