  • I do if it's a direct question of if a conversation leads to it.  I think we're required to say it if it's directly asked and prudence would dictate whether to bring it up at other times and moments.

From what I've experienced most people in modern days biggest hangup with The Church and why they reject it is it's teachings on "adult morality" corresponding to 6th and 9th.

The vast majority of people are pro-death/abortion, pro-fornication pre marriage, pro-adultery between consenting adults (never mind getting the one who is betrayed consent for some reason many don't care about that part), pro-birth control, and pro-sodomy/same sex relationships is about 70 pro/30 against, that if you try to insert moral teachings and reject these worldly perverse things they will hate you and The Church for daring "entering the bedroom" and will never give it the time of day.  There's some people out there who believe all the theological things about The Church but reject some or all of the moral teachings of The Church on these matters.

100%.  This is also the #1 reason Catholics become ex-Catholics, i.e. leave the Church, and it's why Protism is so attractive, since you can "sin boldly", and then wave your hand in the air saying the name of Jesus, perhaps make an altar call, and continue in your sin.  Then they use other justifications after the fact to rationalize their decision and prove (mostly to themselves), and these ex-Catholics become the most virulent anti-Catholics.  Look, the Catholic Church corrupted the Bible and introduced paganism.  Look, pedophile priests.  When they go to their judgment, they're probably planning on bringing these points up to Our Lord.

    Fixed it.

Grammatical proof of how far society's fallen away from the 6th and the 9th. Even if that individual family member is way, way off base, let's please refrain from "they/their" when speaking of the singular person.

(There's a sure conversation starter. Just go around correcting pronouns. Or not. :cowboy: )
Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who has God finds he lacks nothing; God alone suffices. - St. Teresa of Jesus

It is actually considered correct grammar to use the third person plural for an individual of unknown gender.  Shakespeare did so ... long before the days of political correctness.  It should not be used, however, when the gender of the antecedent is know, such as in the post to which you were responding.  This has been around for some time, but it's been recently weaponized in the interests of "gender fluidity".
