  • my spouse and I were not baptized when we were married in a protestant church.  I converted to the catholic church years ago, and my spouse just converted. the priest said we now have a sacramental marriage because we are now both baptized catholics.  He said there was no need for the marriage to be blessed in the church.  Do any of you know the laws of the traditional church well enough to know if this is correct?  I don't know where to research this topic.

  • Before you converted, you had a natural marriage.  Now that you are baptized, you have the "potential" to have a sacramental marriage, but you would have to get re-married in the Church.  Has happened numerous times at our chapel where converts get "re-married".
