I have had this feeling for many yrs now, that god wants me to do something in particular, but I don't know what it might be. I pray and sometimes get answers about -- well, just this and that, but it seems the answer is never sufficient or..? so I am kind of confused a lot. Or I was. Nowadays, I just kind of don't bother thinking about such things much--until today..

In what regards do you mean that you're not sure what God wants you to do?  Are you talking about a vocation or are you talking about how to live your life or what occupation to pursue, etc?

If you are a young person and unsure what vocation God is calling you to, it may very well be to the religious life.  The only way to investigate if this is the life you are being called to is to seek a religious vocation for a time and you will figure it out.  It would take years before you would take final vows so you would most definitely be able to discern your vocation.  The question is whether you are a man or a woman to find an appropriate venue.  I am confident, however, that God is not calling you to the Conciliar sect because he wishes your salvation.

If you are talking about how you live your life or your occupation, then the above poster suggesting that it is the devil trying to confuse you is probably correct.

I don't think the general membership can really help you here.  You need to speak with someone one-on-one.

one thing that seems to prove if nothing else does that "the Conciliar Church" is "off" or what have you is just how shabbily people are treated when they try to enter religious life. I heard this one story about a woman who went to a cnvent to check into religious life and the "nun" who talked to her discouraged her from continuing to pursue this, did not even invite the woman into the place for a tour or antying.. this was the first nun she was given to talk to. No others talked to her and she found herself getting frustrated talking to that one b/c all she did was discourage her from entering the convent. The person had done  to other convents and experienced more or less the same thing, so she kinda lost her patience w/ that nun, basically told her off in as polite a way as she could. In other words, she was told to get lost. How did that nun "know" this person did not belong in the convent? How did the others KNOW that? My answer: they didn't. But  then maybe God was protecting the aspirant b/c--well, look @ the Church these days (so called). I sometimes think the devil has taken over completely.. and it is stories like these that make sedavacantists look good

I think I understand that you are saying...  Please don't take offense by the other comments here...
God creates every person with a particular mission in mind for them to fulfill while in this world.  God places this desire of doing something in particular in our hearts when He was us to search for answers as to what His will is for us in this life.
Ever since I was a little girl I sort of felt as you do, and I prayed almost every day to know the will of God.  It took years before I began to understand the part that I was to play.  Yet, the answer was given only after much time spent in prayer.  So, definitely pray, and if your heart is open to God's will, He will certainly show you what He wants of you.   :)
The Bible says, "This is the will of God: your salvation."  (1 Thessalonians 4:3)  Focus on perfecting yourself so that when the time comes for you to accomplish the mission which God has ordained for you, you will be prepared to carry it out properly.
Hope this helps!

Why don't you just sign up with a pseudonym?

Pseudonyms are anonymous, but at least we know which poster is saying what, rather than having a bunch of posts all labeled "anonymous" from several different people. This is really silly.

And, don't you have a priest you can go to about this?
"there can be no holiness where there is disagreement with the pope" - Pope St. Pius X

Today, only Catholics holding the sedevacantist position are free from the anguish entailed by this truth.

It did help.
I have basically been doing what u say for many yrs, but it helps b/c now I don't feel so alone and like.. I don't know.. sometimes I tell myself to jst stop asking what sould I do and do whatever needs to be done. But that kinda hasn't been working b/c there are always non-evangelizing kinds of things  I can do and so I would only be doing mundanities if I followed tht advice-2-self
One time I was w/ Jesus in the Real Presence and it seemed he was telling me that all I have on my mind just doesn't matter (to Him). So yeh, salvation is what matters. I sometimes tend to be protestant like and think I am already saved... ha ha to that... but in any case, being saved is not just about giving up mortal sin. God doesn't like any sin, and probably ea venial sin gets you 10 yrs in Purgatory or something.. LOL
anyway... where  was I? hmmmm

The battle for one's souls is definitely not easy, but it is ever so worth the struggle!  You are definitely not alone in this..  Even the saints struggled.  Thus, it only makes sense that the rest of us will also.
So, persevere in doing your best, have hope, and put all your trust in God!  Faith can work wonders!
Keep fighting the good fight and may God bless you!   :)

funny you say "doing your best" b/c I told God that some time ago "God, I don't seem to be doing much for You... [again:( mundanities], but I am doing my best.. or almost my best anyway"
I guess we lie to ourselves, don't we? ha ha... I mean, really, do very many "Chistians" really do their best? what a joke.. but I am TRYING to do my best...
Anyway.. thanks for not being snarky. A few people here... um... whatever :(

I do TRY not to be snarky...  No promises that it will never happen though!  We all have our faults!  ;)

I can honstly say I have never in my life been "snarky" to anyone unless that person was snarky first. True, you shouldn't be .. um.. should not lower yourself to that level regardless of what a person says but... and here is another thing Even when I am sarcastic or sardonic or what have you, it is rarely on the same level of malice that the person who started it was at vis a vis me.

God wants you to know love and serve him.  Practice Christian charity with your current duty or whoever is front of you right now. The end
