Everything is working fine now. The site goes down only when the host server has problems. Usually it's only a matter of minutes (or seconds).
I moved several dozen posts out of "General" into their proper sub-forums this morning.
A lot of people like to post everything in General Discussion, either out of laziness or because "I actually want people to READ this post". Which is not a good enough reason to post everything there. I'm sure everyone wants their posts to be read. So should we post everything in General Discussion and nothing in the other sub-fora? I think not.
People will read it in the proper subforum IF THEY ARE INTERESTED. If they're not interested, too bad. General Discussion is for when it doesn't fit anywhere else. If you post everything in General, we won't be able to find anything. CathInfo is too busy of a forum to allow disorganized posting.
It's already hard enough to find posts from 2 weeks ago.
Just for starters, ALL posts show up in "New Posts" which is how many people browse what's new on CathInfo.
A word to the wise: if it has anything to do with the Conciliar Church, or your post has the word "Pope" in the title, it goes in Crisis in the Church.
