I’m on a beef organ supplement right now and I never thought to consider this. Thinking about it, like Lad, I assume it would be fine for medicinal purposes but I’m interested to hear what others have to say.

An organ or liver supplement pill has zero effect in terms of caloric intake, so can’t see how it would break any fast

I lean toward medicine.  I asked my priest and he said something about it tasting like meat.  We don't taste pills.  I thought the advice was helpful.  I take many desecrated organ supplements for various issues and I am always afraid I am doing something wrong on an abstinence day.  My husband assures me it is ok.  When in doubt,  take it to your authority, husband (not applicable for men :cowboy:) father, priest.

There are too many opinions on the internet that it can make a scrupulous person's head spin. :cowboy:

I would take it during the main meal, if possible, and skip on fridays, but otherwise consider it medicine. Just keep in mind the spirit of this penitential season, and ask a priest when in doubt about some law. Just don't go priest shopping for the one that tells you what you want to hear.

This ^^^

Priest shopping is a big problem these days.

Also gonig to the priest when you don't like what your husband says is another issue.

How do we women tell when they should seek advice from an authority higher than her husband or father?  (Not a personal situation, just asking questions, others might wonder about :cowboy:)
