Nature is supposed to be evidence of an intelligent designer, who provides for his creation. This seems to be the case. However, God is also supposed to be loving and caring. How then does nature show God's love? Take the birds, for example. They are sustained on the flesh of worms, which they devour while they are still alive :ready-to-eat: Why would a loving God :chef: create things that way?
-
It's the fallen man and fallen nature.
-
What did birds eat before the fall?

Have you read the story of creation and of the fall in the Book of Genesis?
There you will find that God clothed man and woman with the skin of an animal, after they realised they were naked, after they had sinned.
Before sin there was no death.
God also gave Man to eat of all the trees except for one. He didn't invite men to kill for meat, did He?
But once death was introduced by the sin of Man, it was open slather, so to speak.
So don't blame God, or the bird which eats worms alive. Man's sin is responsible.

the physical pain lifeforms experience when dying or being murdered doesn't bother me. i'm troubled by things that seek to destroy the soul.
i saw a docuмentary called grizzly man, about a bear lover who lived in the alaskan wilderness to study bears. he anthropomorphized them and turned them into his buddies. one day one of the bears attacked him and his girlfriend and ate them. the entire slaughter was caught on camera (which wasn't shown in the film, though the director was given access to the audio of their slaughter and you can see him in agony as he's listening to it).
but it didn't bother me that much. their bodies were being destroyed by the bear, but not necessarily their souls. as harrowing a death as it undoubtedly is to be eaten alive by a bear, it doesn't compare to those crimes, violent or nonviolent in nature, that seek to destroy the soul.
the kind of stuff that really bothers me is pedophiles who rape prepubescent children, pornographers, women being raped in front of their children (generally i find sɛҳuąƖ crimes to be the most unsettling). sadistic actions that seek to kill the soul. that's what gets under my skin. but physical pain, in and of itself, doesn't present problems for me.

In this valley of tears there will always be joy with sorrow, good with evil. It is a reminder that we are not to look to our rest here, but to look to our heavenly homeland. Then, the Risen Lord will Himself wipe away every tear from every eye, the wicked shall receive their due recompense, and the righteous will possess eternal beatitude.
