Title: Craft Show on Sunday
Post by: Änσnymσus on November 01, 2024, 01:45:26 PM
Another thread not too long ago got me thinking.  Would it be a sin to attend a craft show on a Sunday that does not offer the opportunity to attend on the day before (Saturday)?

For Traditionalists, you don't fulfill the mandatory Sunday mass attendance by going on Saturday. You have to go on Sunday if you have an avaliable mass. Novus Ordo or Indult mass are not to be considered obviously.

Plus, a craft show might be an unnecessary buying and selling occasion on Sunday, and thus a sin against the prohibition to work or make others work on Sunday. I advise you to consult a wise Traditionalist priest about attendance on this event on Sunday.

I would think of a craft show more in the nature of pursuing a hobby, though some money may change hands.

Many vendors at a craft show are retired.
You can pretty easily tell who's there to run a business and who's there to get out of their house and scope out the crafting scene.
