    Here are my thoughts on the confirmation hearings:

    I love what Ben Carson had to say.. except that he seemed to downplay the role of environment in "ruining" children's lives... Environment is virtually everything. Govt can help but only WISE govt that doesn't impulsively just throw $$ at the problem and expect everything to do a 180 immediamente..

    I love what Jn McCain had to say.. that was an awesome little speech. Maybe i will grab it off the i-net and post it here. Off the top of my head, cannot recall exact quotes.. but i do know i enjoyed listening to it and agree w/ every word..

    Mattis was good. I hope he gets it.. My guess is he will

    Tillerson did great except for ONE problem, and it is no small problem. No, it is a doozy:

    He would not call Putin a war criminal!  I am greatly appreciative of Marco Rubio asking that Q! God bless him!

    And Rubio also was quick to point out that the information on which he based this description of Putin ("war criminal") is NOT classified, so

    why didn't Tillerson know that Putin is a war criminal? Either Tillerson is not following the news half as much as one in his ( nominee) position should be (which is unlikely) or he does not want to go against Putin. Either one is really, really problematic. And of course most of us say it is the latter. We do not believe for one minute that someone who has been doing business in Russia, directly w/ Putin does not know about his record of killing people who do not agree w/ his govt.. journalists and others.

    Putin is against the US. Until we realize that fully, we are in big trouble.

    I am not rooting for this nomination. Yeh, sure, he claims he needs more information.. Really? I don't. I mean there has been substantial reporting on such things. even w/ Fox, which is more trustworthy than the others..

    whatever..

    (I don't see any problem w/ the other folks awaiting nomination.. yeh, the Ds will fight tooth and nail but who cares? they dont have the numbers)

    more people were involved w/ "politics" this election season, apparnetly, according to news people.. but i guess ppl at this forum are not terribly interested in what's going on?

    disappointing

    in any case ppl in the news mentioned how Reagan spoke to Gorbachev and ended the cold war and etc.. so i guess we are to assume that these news commentators think Putin is a Gorbachev clone?

    PLEASE! Beam me up, Scotty!

    i dont recall Gorbachev being a war criminal. I guess it is possible and i have to admit i haven't read up on Gorby... but i never heard he was anything like Putin. I am pretty sure Gorbechev became a christian?

    • Dems in Congress giving DeVos a hard time. Maybe she was unprepared and didn't know certain laws, as was reported by the news but you know, maybe that's at least partly b/c she never planned on being in a presidential cabinet? I didn't watch the hearings so i don't know how uninformed she is

    But i do know one thing

    Democrats are liars

    deceivers

    they play tricks on you with words, manipulate you to believe in their reality, which is no reality at all.. they think reality and truth are only what we humans choose them to be.. they are sick and do not know it.

    How do I know? Well, here's one point: I used to be socially liberal (except when it came to abortion!)... What young person cannot say the same.. aren't they all liberal more/less?

    I any case, I learned the hard way

    • I have doubts about Tillerson

    and if there is any doubt whatsoever in the minds of those in Congress (who presumably know more than I do), there should be no confirmation

    just overall impressions, he comes across like he thinks that.. there are more important issues than murder of dissidents (Putin) and murder of civilians in Aleppo. I am not referring to accidental killing of civilians.. Putin, it seems, deliberately killed civilian people in Syria not hardly are they  all ISIS or even family of ISIS.  some people question whether Putin is really targeting the right side  there.

    Also, i am thoroughly DISGUSTED at the way "everyone" has forgotten about all the treachery of Hillary Clinton.. and yet there is that guy named Cartwright who didn't do a small fraction of what Hillary did.. already been indicted and convicted.

    All this sends a message to our children: If you have money and name recognition, you can get away with anything

    No, i am NOT always proud of this country. Poor people can't even look cross-eyed at Classified docuмents w/o getting the book thrown at them. Poor people are scuм

    in the eyes of most

    and yet Jesus speaks in a positive way about the poor

    oh well, that's just Jesus... who is he?
