  • It's beneficial, especially at beginning, before one is acclimated.

    I've overdone it in the past, counting relatively slowly to 300 and sometimes even to 600 under a cold shower.

    That being said, I recommend it as a way to "snap out" of a debilitating mood.

  • At first I thought you were talking about drinking river water--eeeech! (the pollutants) Not dunking myself in icewater anytime soon, thanks. It probably works as an antidepressant because you are so happy when it is over with...  :smile:

  • I remember seeing something on TV where somewhere in northern europe people walk out from the sauna and jump into an iced river/ pond (literally with snow outside!)!
