Perhaps this is a time when Our Lord requires more trust and Faith from us. Many today are in circuмstances where it feels pointless to get out of bed in the morning.

We must keep our eyes fixed upon Our Lord on the Cross, and remember that Heaven is our reward for fulfilling every small duty of ours done out of pure love for Him. Our Lord said to St. Gertrude that He accepts every good desire of ours as if we fulfilled those things which we desire to do, but cannot.

By holy desires we may present Jesus and Mary with many sweet smelling flowers as it were, to console them and make reparation to them. May Jesus and Mary console you and bring you peace.

I have definitely felt depressed today, although I felt better after receiving communion. I guess I just woke up coping. It's kind of frustrating when it appears no young ladies are interested but usually I notice more when I'm not trying to notice.

I think it is important to remember that we live in a sick society and a fragmented church environment. Duty and responsibility gets far more muddy and nebulous. It used to be more defined. Like men protecting women (chivalry). However, many women today do not actually wish to be helped like the one woman I mentioned rejecting my offer to escort her home from work. The military is another example. Today if a young man were to join the military, he would serve the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan, not Christendom like during the Crusades.

Many people in the world and traditional environments will try to to guilt trip you in thinking you need to take on these absurd responsibilities simply due to the fact that you are a man. But you need to focus on your salvation first and foremost and for some men that may mean few responsibilities in life. The trick is to fill that 'down time' with something that keeps you busy and avoid evil.

If we can do that and maintain a consistent prayer life, God will surely reward you. Get yourself out of bed and have yourself a blessed day! I'm rooting for you and so are the saints and choirs of angels!

First link leads to an orthodox website, second to a translation done by Protestants.

Not prudent for a Catholic to read.

Non Catholics can of course understand and translate Latin and Greek, but only the Catholic Church can properly understand the Catholic sense of these passages, which is necessary when translating from any language.
